Found these stats off of Gene's blog:

1) Consistent, competitive play has been a Purple trademark since Caruso's arrival in 2008. Glenn's St. Thomas teams have led after halftime in all 45 games against MIAC opponents. And last Saturday's seven-point loss -– decided by a BU go-ahead touchdown with 40 seconds to play -- was the Toms' largest margin of defeat to a conference opponent since 2007.

2) This year: The Tommies have outscored opponents 59-0 in the first quarters this season and 62-3 in the third quarters.

That second stat speaks to a young club....which we hoped would play more senior with the number of games under their belt.  Oh well.

I'm assuming that those stats must have been before the Bethel game since St. Thomas was trailing 14-0 at halftime.

The stat actually says St. Thomas has led after halftime, and indeed, St. Thomas did lead after halftime at Bethel.

I just had Falling Skies recommended to me.  Anyone here watch it?  Should I put the effort in?  The wiki page sounds ok so I'm willing to give it a go.

I've watched the past 2 seasons and it isn't half bad assuming you like scifi. I've always like Noah Wyle which is the reason I started watching in the first place.

You are correct, I misread the original post - thought it said St. Thomas led at halftime, not after.

Of course the only stat that really matters is who is leading at the end of the 4th quarter or OT if that occurs.

Some observations from the Bethel-GAC game today. It was a story of 2 different halves. I felt Bethel was a bit flat the first half, which I was afraid might happen after last week's big win over UST. If it wasn't for a 100+ yard int return Bethel would have been behind at the half. GAC dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball in the first half. It was obvious that GAC's defensive game plan was to stop the run and they did a very good job of it. But when you load up to stop the run it opens up the passing game which Bethel made some nice adjustments at half and opened up the passing game. Bethel was pretty much in control the second half and the defense came up big today with 3 interceptions and should have had at least 3 more.

Congrats to Bethel today on a nice win over a tough GAC team.

I did get to watch the whole BU GAC game in person and I concur with RoyalsFan, Bethel was definitely trying to get into the game the first half. That pick 6 for 101 yards should be one of the "play of the week" nominations - I hope it gets submitted. The pitch and pass later in the game for another TD was fun to see also, but I think that the interception was the best highlight of the game. The blind bootleg that would have been six that got called back for down field blocking in the back was very well executed also. And what was up with Seth Mathis getting the personal fouls throughout the game? From the stands you really couldn't see what the calls were against/for. It was a fun game to be at - atmosphere wasn't too bad - wish it hadn't been quite so windy.

I just did a double take on the Linfield vs. Lewis and Clark score.  Yes, it's 70-0 Linfield in the 2nd quarter.

And continuing a thread from earlier this week -
Clearly running up a big offensive day is not "bullying" in DIII. (Not that it is elsewhere, but that's what that silly mom thinks.)

Since I wasn't at the game today, I can only go by what I think I saw. Frustration! I think Seth just figured GAC was a team that should have been "put-away" and for much of the day that wasn't happening.
The pitch and pass was a thing of beauty to watch. I got the feeling some of the GAC players were watching it rather than defending it.

After seeing the Linfield score I went to watch that game. They want me to pay $12.00 to watch the wildcats play. With a blow-out like that, they ought to refund money to the people who actually paid.

SJU did exactly as expected today -- congrats to Gary and crew.  In other MIAC news, UST did exactly as expected, and did not cover the spread.  I haven't seen the game summary yet, so I cannot comment on the game any further.  There is however an unheralded inter-link rumor that the F.A.M.I.L.Y. held a closed meeting earlier this week and in support of the Anti-bullying Football patents of The United States (ABFPOTUSA or UFTA for short), they unanimously decided that should they be fortunate enough to win the game, they would do so within the margin of spread so as to silently protest bullying in football across the great union of the Unites States.  Hat's off to GC and the  F.A.M.I.L.Y. for the exemplary example they see for youth everywhere.

I also couldn't really see what Seth got flagged for today. I think on the first one there was a quick whistle and he got called for hitting the pile late, but not sure if that was the case. On the second one, he must have grabbed the face mask when he was tackling the runner going out of bounds, but since it was on the far side of the field really couldn't see it that well from the stands. Just glad that the fouls didn't hurt the team much.

I haven't been to many games this year, but there must be a new rule (or has it been around a while?). I guess if a player's helmet comes off during a play then the player has to sit out a play. Happened to GAC about 3 times today - hadn't seen that called before.

After watching the Auggies play st olaf last weekend i think the Auggies will beat the cobbers. Ayrton did not run much, but you could tell that his hamstring was feeling better and lack of running was the game plan for him. I think he will be back to his normal self and pull off a close game at Concordia.

From the sounds of it he will have time to rest the hamstring the whole first half next week after back to back unsportsmanlike penalities in the 4th Q.... The radio sounded like his temper isn't the greatest. Told all of the Cobber fans that he thought they were No.1 on his walk to the locker room too.
