Anybody notice something kind of humorous and presumptuous  on the U$T football schedule?
I think they should consider updating the Nov. 23rd game.

What, you don't think it will be a home game?  ;)

Yeah, that made me smile too.  Doubly presumptuous.

Although I wonder why they don't have the game after that?  Do they expect to lose in the first round at home?

Now, that's too funny and made me chuckle this fine Monday morning.

That is all that fits on the pg. If you scroll down, you can get to pg 2 where they have the Stag Bowl listed as "@ Salem, VA" ;)

From the sounds of it he will have time to rest the hamstring the whole first half next week after back to back unsportsmanlike penalities in the 4th Q.... The radio sounded like his temper isn't the greatest. Told all of the Cobber fans that he thought they were No.1 on his walk to the locker room too.
So it's your understanding that he is suspended for the 1st half next week against UST.....?  Geez ???

Sorry to hear that...particularly the part about flying the bird.  He's such a talented player, but it sounds like he has some growing up to do.  No reason to interact with the fans in a negative manner.

There's some misunderstanding here.  It wasn't a bird, it wasn't even a plane.

St. Thomas made the mistake of anointing themselves kings of the MIAC, and it hasn't worked out so well this year.  I can't say they are a bad team, but the MIAC as a whole is quite talented.  I don't think any of the other schools agreed to that one.

You are right, there is no excuse for that "gesture". I expect to see him express that emotion with his play in the future. Should be fun.

I did get to watch the whole BU GAC game in person and I concur with RoyalsFan, Bethel was definitely trying to get into the game the first half. That pick 6 for 101 yards should be one of the "play of the week" nominations - I hope it gets submitted. The pitch and pass later in the game for another TD was fun to see also, but I think that the interception was the best highlight of the game. The blind bootleg that would have been six that got called back for down field blocking in the back was very well executed also. And what was up with Seth Mathis getting the personal fouls throughout the game? From the stands you really couldn't see what the calls were against/for. It was a fun game to be at - atmosphere wasn't too bad - wish it hadn't been quite so windy.

I also couldn't really see what Seth got flagged for today. I think on the first one there was a quick whistle and he got called for hitting the pile late, but not sure if that was the case. On the second one, he must have grabbed the face mask when he was tackling the runner going out of bounds, but since it was on the far side of the field really couldn't see it that well from the stands. Just glad that the fouls didn't hurt the team much.

I haven't been to many games this year, but there must be a new rule (or has it been around a while?). I guess if a player's helmet comes off during a play then the player has to sit out a play. Happened to GAC about 3 times today - hadn't seen that called before.

I don't know if it is a new rule this year or just being enforced this year.  I like the rule.  The players gotta learn to keep them strapped up.  When I played if your helmet came off in a game it was a good thing because it meant the doctor had easier time checking on you.  I just turned 31 so no leather helmet jokes.

If any team were to put playoff dates on their schedules it would be Mount Union and / or Whitewater.  If you check their schedules there is no mention of playoffs.  I don't have a problem with a team listing the start date of the playoffs as long as they include a qualifying statement.  To list "Home" for the location is a bit much.

I agree that players need to keep their helmets strapped, but making them sit out a play really doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Football is a violent game and helmets come off sometimes even if they are strapped on. I understand when a player is injured that they should sit out at least 1 play for safety reasons, but don't know why it would be a safety reason if your helmet comes off. If it is because they (league officials) want to make sure helmets are strapped on, then it would make more sense to asses a penalty if a player doesn't have his helmet strapped on. I don't know about college, but when I was playing high school football it was a 15 yard penalty if you didn't have your mouth piece in. They could do the same for unstrapped helmets rather than make them sit out a play. Just me 2 cents worth.

Coach can call a timeout to get the player back in the game without missing a play.

Bench, you've become quite the sandbagger in your later years.

If anyone in the MIAC beats St. Thomas this year it will be a major upset.  I expect them to cruise through the regular season.

Say what you will about UST supporters "anointing" or "crowning" themselves this year.  Bench didn't have that take.  And further, even the most balanced and fair fans of other teams were expecting them to "cruise."

Like I've said, expectations have been high since Waldvogel's senior year and will continue to be.  There was nothing extra special this year.  But if it makes you all feel better, keep telling yourselves so.
