From the sounds of it he will have time to rest the hamstring the whole first half next week after back to back unsportsmanlike penalities in the 4th Q.... The radio sounded like his temper isn't the greatest. Told all of the Cobber fans that he thought they were No.1 on his walk to the locker room too.
So it's your understanding that he is suspended for the 1st half next week against UST.....?  Geez ???

Sorry to hear that...particularly the part about flying the bird.  He's such a talented player, but it sounds like he has some growing up to do.  No reason to interact with the fans in a negative manner.
There's some misunderstanding here.  It wasn't a bird, it wasn't even a plane.

It's a Frog!

Ron, I'm happy with the Tommies posting whatever in their schedules. It's humorous to look at if it doesn't break right for them but obviously not a big deal. Still, at the basic level, you were upset about the Johnnies posting something that happened last season. Which everyone does. Us Johnnies simply didn't understand what on earth was arrogant about that? Those things happened. They posted them. How was placement on the site, before anything in 2013 happened, arrogant? Especially since they were about a season when the Johnnies went 5-5. It was simply something to acknowledge about the season, something good, anything, to grasp onto in a long year. They weren't predicting 2013 awards. Whereas the Tommies were predicting something (which is fine!). Apples, oranges, etc.

retagent

I guess the only option would be to not post any award. Or, maybe wait until all awardees have passed into the Great Gridron in the Sky before recognizing their accomplishments.

I'll let ron decide what he would like to see done that he would not regard as arrogant.

You have the floor ron.

Sfury - appreciate the thoughtful response here.

I'll quickly say that my point last summer was in the finesse and details of how the SID at SJ1 posted the awards....I discussed that they were the second link on the page, etc.  The semantics of that rant and this scheduling gaf by UST shouldn't be lost for the broader points in my reply to ROR.

Namely...
1) Pat, the adult here, trumped both sides slinging mud at each other over gafs by SIDs on their respective websites - they are gafs and in reality no arrogance is at play
2) I didn't feel I was using RORs quote out of context - sure he was talking to a different cause or lack there of behind the alleged arrogance, but both conversations were around arrogance none the less.
3) See my rant on sports talk radio and how it isn't as easy to get away with that here.

Retagent: C'mon man, how about a reply that advances the conversation.....your sarcasm is a tired bit.

JMO - but I don't know how you can take putting a home playoff game on your schedule at the start of the year anything but arrogance - that's not a gaf (which really is an acronym for Give A F***) .

sjusection105

The question about the play-off "Home" game being listed on the schedule is laughable. As Pat noted, simply listing that the play-offs start on XYZ date is fine, but to list it as a "Home" game is a little over the top.
The bigger question is,who made the decision to list it on the schedule in such a fashion? If it was an overconfident SID or Athletic Director then it's egg on their face. If this directive came from the Head Coach, it is hilarious. Don't think this is lost on the other coaching staffs in the MIAC.

Good find faunch for bringing this to the attention of the MIAC Board.

+K coming your way  8-)

I think all teams (even Hamline, MAC, Crown, and Northwestern) have the goal of a home playoff game but to list it on the schedule that you will have one is silly.  It's akin to giving your team the SI cover jinx.  Nothing wrong with having high expectations but maybe keep it thumb tacked to the bulletin board in you own locker room.

All right, call it arrogance.  In this case, that means making public your own high expectations of yourself.  If high expectations and making them known are considered laughable and bulletin board material for other coaches, let me ask you which is the greater of the two:

1) This schedule produced by the SID as UST
2) The "1" in the SJU logo

Edit: I'm not trolling here, y'all just walked right into it:

The 1 in the SJU logo.  You win. Good enough?

We get it, RD. You're serious about both hating SJU and taking yourself seriously. You appear utterly frustrated that we neither take your serious SJU hate or serious self regard seriously. A tip: it's entertaining (often painfully so, but still entertaining) to watch you metaphorically thrash about like a fish in the bottom of a boat.

A second tip: given your political leanings I bet you're hip with the term "moral-relativism" and all it's logical failings. Apply that thought to your own argument above and you may rethink your fish-inna-boat thrashing ways. But maybe not.

We walked into it because we cannot tell difference between your trolling and a run-of-the-mill angry person.  If this last series of posts from you was a troll then every post you've ever made has been a troll. How tiring. Don't you have a dog or something to kick?

EDIT: I just read your post again. You're NOT trolling?  Jeez, man. You are one grumpy dude.

I never liked the 1 in the logo-but SJU did win a national championship.
But it is arrogant to list a home playoff before the season starts.
This season goes to show the fine line between playoffs and sitting at home.
