I may have missed it, but is the streaming video an SJU broadcast, or the Bethel stream?

I guess I don't know for sure but I assume SJU. The one in Jersey last year was to be for the Tommies game, which was at St. John's.

I don't know for sure, but common sense would dictate that it is an SJU broadcast....I can't imagine why Bethel would go and set up a video broadcast that was only being sent to SJU alumni events?

I was going to mention that all this whinging about video feeds make us Johnnies look like a bunch of the most hopelessly ineffectual Poms (English) complaining about the decline if English cricket.

But then this woman sits across from me on the train with what looks like a worm growing out of her shin. I'm pretty sure that it's only a nasty big piece of dried skin poking out. But if it wiggles around I think I'll vomit on the spot.  Some days I really hate public transport, despite the benefit of no traffic.

EDIT: just to satisfy your curiosity...

Bethel wouldn't be allowed to broadcast video from SJU even if it wanted to.

For all of you Johnnies fans out there, I just got this in my e-mail from the Alumni Relations folks:

You don't have to be on campus to watch the Johnnies take on Bethel on Saturday, Nov. 16. Alumni, parents, families and friends are invited to watch a live-stream of the game at a location near you.

Chicago, Ill.
Chief O'Neill's Pub & Restaurant, Chicago, Ill.

Eastern Iowa
Home of Rich Murphy '79, Cedar Rapids, IA

Kansas City, Mo.
The Well, Kansas City, Mo.

Los Angeles, Calif.
Home of Kent Winter '90, Calabasas, Calif.

San Diego, Calif.
Harbor Town Pub, San Diego, Calif.

Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Office Bar and Grill, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Sioux Falls, S.D.
CJ Callaway's Pub, Sioux Falls, SD

Washington, D.C.
BlackFinn Saloon, Bethesda, MD

Hmmmm, CJ Calaway's is not far from my house.  Why did they pick this location,  I'm guessing school ties somehow?  Anyone know?

You'd have to ask Adam Fahrendorf '08. He's the Sioux Falls Alumni Chapter President.
There has to be some tie-in with Callaway or their parent company, Pinnacle Hospitality, Inc., because the last Sioux Falls alumni event was at Tre Lounge on 33rd Street by Auggie.

If nothing else, this should draw a 15 yard penalty on the administration for taunting.

Yea, I agreee- but it's still not as bad as listing a Home Play-off game on your schedule before the season starts...... ;)
does something connect the 2 issues?
As I thought, nope

Meh. I'm having a hard time getting worked up about the video feed issue. Maybe it's because I live close. But most of the SJU fan base is within the listening area of The Bear, and to me anyway, if I can't be watching the game live with my own peepers, listening to the picture from Backes, Lebowski and Carr is pretty darn good. And when I'm hunting, where we have no internet service and fringe cell service, well, I'm hunting. Now with the Twitter feeds, it's slightly frustrating but possible to find out what's happening. If I cared that much, I'd stay home and go to the game.
So... I just might have seen my last SJU football game until the Stagg Bowl. :D

(1) I think you're probably right. I know I would not have as much emotion invested in the streaming webcast if I lived closer. But, I'm lucky to get to the Natural Bowl once per year.
(2) A healthy chunk of us on the board don't live within a reasonable driving distance (or even reasonable flying distance for that matter).

I hesitate to post this, I think this has been beat to death.

Excellent argument for streaming the game.

I suggest rather than continuing to whine in this echo chamber, write to Rob Culligan and Michael Hemesath.

With all the out of state players on the roster having a video stream is an absolute no-brainer. Tom Stock is a smart guy,I somehow feel this is over his pay-grade. Tom Stock needs to do a better selling job to whoever is stonewalling this issue. It's 2013 and is time to catch up to the competition.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Ok.  I admit it.  It's me.  I stopped the streaming.  There was a vote on '11 which was very, very close and I put in a 'No'.  I thought it was for alumni to have the opportunity to purchase 'Strea Ming', which is Chinese for panda testicles.  I've been too scared to admit it to you guys until now.
