St. Olaf beats Bethel next week. Johnnies beat Bethel in final week. Tommies beat Cobbers.

Four-team tie at the top of the conference.

Yes? Okay, no. No?

Not likely....SJU might get blown out by BU in two weeks.  As exciting ad the season has been this SJU team is fortunate to only have 2 losses...probably should have 4.

To quote a coaching great: You are what your records says you are.

Sure SJU could have 4 losses at seasons end, so could UST. BU could have slipped in the end against Augsburg or not made the comeback against UST.

I get the point you're making, but the fact is, this SJU team is winning some of the games they lost the last 2 or 3 years. That's progress any way you slice it. On Saturday, they just happened to run into a program in GAC that is making the same sort of progress and figuring out how to win the same sort of games.

Tommies, Cobbers and Johnnies all finish 8-2. Johnnies make playoffs as committee takes the two-loss team that has a victory over Bethel.

That said, I think it's a stretch to make it in with 2 losses this year. They'd also be up against the UWO/UWP loser. That team will have losses to an undefeated (presumably) Whitewater and one loss WIAC runner up. I'm thinking all three MIAC two loss teams are below the WIAC two loss team in this scenario.

The WIAC might still not end up with a 1-loss runner up.  LaCrosse has a shot to knock Platteville down to 2 losses next week.  Platteville then beats Oshkosh but it might not a big enough win for Platteville to rise above the MIAC runner up.

Do you want to put money on that?  :)

yes.  I am extremely confident they have "a shot".  If they are forced to forfeit or the game is cancelled, I'll pay up.

There is female going back and forth with Frank about Gagliardi articles-too many? Her last name is Hiscock-do you think that is her real name?

'Tis, and she works in admissions at SJU.

Week 9 Poll:
Bethel, UST and Concordia hold at #5, #18 and #21, respectively.
SJU drops out but still receives 18 votes.

My thoughts for the week:
GO JOHNNIES!
GO COBBERS!
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

If the Cobbers defeat UST next week, will the voters keep a 3 loss Tommie squad in the Top 25.
Said another way, when did UWW drop out of the Top 25 last year?
There has to comes a point, this deep into the season, when the past performance is dropped for current season performance.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

It was week 9 when, with 3 losses, we fell out of the Top 25.

I know this is off topic, and a little tardy, but I know there are other hockey fans on here and want to vent. For those of you who saw the Flyers goon it up on my Caps Friday night when the were having their A$$es handed to them, have you heard this. Goalie Ray Emery, who had a .733 Save Percentage in the game, and decided to skate all the way down the ice and mug Caps goalie Brayden Holtby, who neither wanted to fight, nor had any reason to engage, was given the Third Star of the Game accolade. I believe the home town Philly sportswriters who cover that team were responsible for that travesty.

Discuss.

Silly-but not unexpected from Philly. I would hope the nhl suspends emery for a few games.
That is why college hockey can be better at times.
In any event, go hawks-Stanley Cup Champs.

There is a reason the Flyers are still known in Philly as the Broad Street Bullies.

NCAA football overtime sucks, it is nothing more than a glorified penalty shots.  The NFL's is bad enough but the NCAA is regoddamndiculous.

Emery is a longtime member of my "Kick in the Shins and Run List". He is a jerk through and through!

What would suggest they replace it with?

Here is the link...I kinda like Emery he is a great goalie, I miss him on my Blackhawks!

We don't need that kind of player, but we need a new backup goalie.
