Top 25 is out
http://www.d3football.com/top25/2013/week10
They
Bethel drops to #6
UST #16
Concordia drops out of Top 25

Concordia & SJU still getting votes.

Not sure what UWW did to deserve moving up a spot over Bethel. They only beat UW Stevens Point (4-5, 2-4) 17-7 and only put up 182 yards of total offense. I know Bethel didn't play a strong opponent this week, but they did put up 47 points and over 500 yards while the defense shut them out. Just don't see the justification to move up a spot.

I think SJU is going to kick Bethel's hinder and travel to the CatDome in round 2.  ;D

After seeing the UWW/UW Platteville game, I think all the WIAC teams are ranked a little high - especially Platteville.

They are ahead by one point - literally. Next week I predict a huge shake-up because John Caroll is going to beat Mount Union. That coupled with a decisive victory over St. John's is going to move BU up to fourth - you heard it here first.  ;D

After listening to this morning's podcast it is looking like a lean year for the MIAC, as only Bethel is a lock to get into the post season. As things look now, it is going to be very difficult for a 2 loss team to get through the round-robin process that is in place for selecting teams for Pool C. We'll get a better sense on Wednesday afternoon when the second Regional Rankings come out. If by any chance St. Thomas or St. John's can get ranked ahead of Pacific Lutheran is their only chance. If PLU is ranked ahead of them, then when either of them come up from the West Region against one loss teams from other regions their chances are pretty unlikely. SOS and RRO will have some bearing, but I'm not sure it will be enough.

Yeah, I don't see that happening!

Tough loss for the Cobbers.  Getting outscored 34-7 after taking a 13-0 lead on the road is rough.  Maybe the cobbs still have a chance if they beat GAC this weekend.  It will be interesting to see what the ROR will be this week.  My guess, UST will be in and I hope CC is in too.

I don't see any 2 loss team from the MIAC getting in this year......

So you're saying you regret co-signing that loan for Archambault?

I want to see CC get into the playoffs, it will be hard to get in with comparisons of the unbeaten or 1 loss teams in weaker conferences.  Especially the auto bids where teams have 2 or 3 losses and win the conf.

Does Franklin just get credit for barely losing to MUC early in the year?  Is MUC the same type of program they were in the early 2000's?  What's the strength of the conf?  What was UST ranked when SJU beat them (#2??), with the same approach SJU should have been a top 10 team in the rankings the following week but barely cracked the top 25.

Meeting Retired Old Rat for dinner tonight in NYC. We're going to plot karma attacks on Tommies, toast Minnesota's 6th Congressional District representative, and live in the SJU past. Should be a blast. We've never met, though. He said I'll recognize him because he'll be standing outside the midtown restaurant wearing a sandwich board that reads, "Liberty Mutual Coaches of the Year eat free."

This is a flawed system to say the least, but it is the system we have to deal with. The best 32 teams do not get into the brackets....just like March Madness
