What happens if a team was found using players that were ineligible on its football team?  Do they forfeit all wins for the season or just the games certain players played in?

Does the 2nd place team in that conference get the auto bid into the playoffs?

Plus, when was the last time coach Meidt was brought up on this board and where has his football career gone?  Last I thought he was linebacker coach for the bears around 5-6 years ago.

OK - spill - what's the potential dirt on who?

Others with more knowledge will be able to give some guidance, but usually after an investigation is done by the NCAA they determine the length of penalty - and it can reach backwards into games already played.

If the player didn't participate in a game then the team didn't really use an ineligible player.   They would not have to forfeit a game because said player was dressed or listed on the roster if said player did not participate in the contest.

Meidt works at Wal-Mart.

Bethel must forfeit their win over the Tommies and UST gets the automatic bid.

Haha!  There is no dirt on any team that I am aware of.  I was growing weary of reading of how bad the SC Times is and the SJU rube chats!!  ;D  So I figured I would start a thread about something else.  Looks like it got folks excited before the 2nd edition of ROR.

Damn! you meddling cobber! ;D I like the USTBench's idea better... I think Bethel cheated and they should forfeit the rest of the games and UST & SJU play again for the MIAC Title!!! ;D

We could combine storylines and memes to get some talk going:

Does anyone know if the person in the SC Times chat was correct when they said Glenn Caruso would leave St. Thomas for greener pastures and replace Kurt Ram(b)ler as offensive coordinator for the Bethel game and install the wishbone offense with a new tough quarterback and that Gary Fasching will serve as defensive coordinator -- with a mustache -- in a game that will be broadcast on a webcast with a confused Dave Lee providing play-by-play for the 8 p.m. contest that will serve as the first Johnnies night game in program history, one that could vault the Tommies into the playoffs because Bethel will be playing with a defensive lineman who is ineligible due to his violation of the school's strict no-dancing laws?

Maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but this is just a tool shed move to pull. You've got a bunch of people waiting for the other shoe to drop and all assuming the worst about Coach Johnson and the Bethel program. I didn't find it humorous in the slightest, immature, yes.  ::)

By asking if the 2nd place team would get the automatic bid, you were implying that Bethel had a ineligible player - not nice!!!   :o

I was enjoying all the piss & vinegar from Collegeville.  For all the supposed UST stereotypes that SJ1 fans like to trumpet, it is nice to see that at SJ1 the proof is in the pudding web chats.  ;D

Ha!  I didn't take much notice of your post, CN, because those sorts of shenanigans almost never happen in our neck of the woods. But seeing now that you were just trolling for high dudgeon and that you pulled in a couple Royals, all I can say is Bravo.

Looks like we'll have to utterly demolish BU to have a shot at the post season. Oh well.  Double monkey stomp out the term wouldn't exist if it couldn't happen.
