There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.

The 10 - Best of the tough stuff 2013

Grant Birchall from Hawthorn lays out a couple guys in the top 10, which is nice to see, but the #1 hit by a Greater Western Sydney player is a 'straight to the hospital' affair.

Predictions for Saturday:

1.   LeVesseur is written up in the 3rd quarter for throwing water bottles at the rent-a-cops.
2.   Haege takes is seen with his shirt off pinching his nipples a la Farmer Fran in the 3rd quarter as LeVesseur scrambles for a 12 yard gain.
3.   Duffman and Finsleft win a cage match against Chuck and a rent-a-cop of his choice.
4.   My med school flag football team beats the Law school again in the annual Malpractice bowl.
5.   Weber comes back with a vengeance to the tune of 150 yards and 2 TDs.
6.   Gearman has a longer TD catch this week than he did last week.
7.   SJU does not attempt a FG.
8.   TDT is seen on CNN looting a local Gap store running out arms full of pink shirts after the hurricane hits Naples.
9.   Laker missed his 20th consecutive SJU  football game but continues to claim to know "all about SJU football traditions."
10.   SJU wins 63-9 just like they did on family weekend my senior year when I almost got arrested as my parents watched their first SJU game!

Reading some old posts from 2005. Kilted Rat was/is the man. The "Malpractice Bowl." Just too funny.

What is up with all the St. Olaf talk?  You mention our favorite food of lutefisk.  Then y'all talk about our home in Lake Wobegon.  I'm not sure if anyone caught it, but when Garrison Keillor did his show from St. Olaf he accidentally switched Lake Wobegon and Olaf.  In all honesty if y'all are going to have some fun at Olaf's expense at least let us join in the fun.

If you are ever looking to pick up some good meats before games I used to go to the Schmidts Meat Market in Nicollet, MN for some smoked sausage sticks.  Definitely a great snack during a game at Gustavus.

I do have a serious question though.  My brother wants Guinness beer sign for Christmas.  Do I get him a Hamm's one as a joke with the Guinness one hidden?  Every time I see the Dr. Pepper 10 commercial I think it is going to be for Hamm's beer.

There is a real possibility that he would treasure the Hamm's sign and think that you gave him the Guinness sign as a joke....., just sayin' ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Big game tonight. Good luck to both teams. Frankly I have no problem with UMU and UW-W being back (again) in the title game. I'll always respect consistent and high level effort and success.

Things could get interesting tonight. If UMU finds themselves with a lead late in the game with a chance to run out the clock I wonder if the new coaching staff is prepared. Based on last year one would hope Larry communicated to Vince to make sure the o-line fires off the ball to avoid having the defense diving at their ankles.

You are the ultimate sucker for dynastic teams and individuals yet...dislike Tiger Woods. Explain yourself.

Let me help Rube out a bit, although he may have some thoughts of his own

Even in TEAMS that have good runs, the players change from year to year - which is part of the mistique - but the culture doesn't. It's a bit more fun to experience that. Tiger is an individual, who has many flaws, and it is easier, at least for me, to want others, who might be better people, to take him down a peg. So, in essence, you're not against the "dynasty" that is Tiger, you dislike the person Tiger is.

Once Rube stops practicing his 400-meter run in preparation for the SJU alumni meet, I think he'd say something similar (and I've heard his anti-Tiger rants before so I sort of know what he'll say). Of course I'm almost certain the reason he's in love with the Duke dynasty is because of an individual -- the one and only Coach K.

When I was at Ft. McCoy,WI a few years ago I drove by a bar in Sparta and saw a classic 70s light-up sign "Blatz" and underneath in red neon "On Tap". I didn't even know they still made it - and then had one (for old times sake) - and wished they didn't (on tap or not - not a good beer!). But it was a cool sign. I say get him the Hamm's sign....and keep the Guinness sign for yourself.

They played the John Gagliardi profile during halftime of the championship game down here, which was really nice to watch. A really nice show.

And, man, are UWW spanking UMU.

I agree with Oz on both counts - very nice piece on John and UWW absolutely spanked Mount. UMU only earned 7 points, as one of their touchdowns was a gimmee.
