I always thought that Rocky Mountain oysters were sheep's testicles. ???

From Wikipedia:

Rocky Mountain oysters are sometimes confused with lamb fries or animelles (lamb testicles), which are served in a manner similar to Rocky Mountain oysters. A few other deceptive terms, such as "cowboy caviar", "Montana tendergroins", "dusted nuts", "bull fries" or "swinging beef" may be used.

Didn't Chevy Chase eat a whole bunch of Rocky Mountain Oysters in Uncle Buck which we're later identified as sheep testicles?  I hate it when Hollywood gets details wrong.

Anybody think John Gagliardi will be invited as a guest clinician?

No offense to Texas Ole but 'dem people is crazy!!!

I have only seen some commercials for it, and the sad thing is it looks pretty normal for youth sports these days.  A year ago I witnessed an argument that nearly turned in to an all out brawl that started between 2 parents in a gym before a basketball game.  The reason was that one parent was still upset that his son wasn't the starting CB during football season.  It had been nearly 6 months.  I now need to watch it to see if I recognize any people in it.  I work with Dr. Hearne.  Some of you who are familiar with Friday Night Lights might recognize the name.  He was one of the coaches for Permian that got in a lot of trouble with the state.  His stories about parents and families are troublesome.  One of the ones that he has shared involves a player whose father convinced him if Permian lost a game then his son would be better off taking his life.  Luckily some people including Dr. Hearne intervened to help that player who I now understand is doing quite well.

I had a professor in grad school that focused almost all of his spare time researching burnout rates for kids whose parents pushed like this. The results weren't pretty. A sizable majority will quit playing the sport before they get a chance to try out for varsity athletics in high school, and many of those that do go on will quit before their junior/senior year of high school.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

I see nothing in that list about 'Prairie oysters'.  Maybe those really are just buffalo testicles, as we were told in Medora, ND, where Mrs. Ypsi and I gave 'em a try.  (I didn't dislike them, but she actually enjoyed them. ;))

Worked for a month back in 1991 at the Paint Shop...very sad to read about this.  Mr. Vogel ran in back then and he was a very kind man.

I just saw the first episode.  Sadly I have seen much worse at those age groups.  I don't know if crazy is the best description.  I think psychotic might be a better choice of words.  I don't think Gagliardi would survive in Texas.  I think someone might actually try to kill him for implementing his programs.

The family Oz have been on a vacation in Phuket, Thailand. Back to where the Mrs and I first met 24 years ago almost to the day, she on a trip with her friends and me a sailor on shore leave. The best part for me so far? Dead set ring side at the Muay Thai drinking Singha.

It's some tough fighting. Here's a good round between 15 year olds, one an Aussie and one a Korean. How two kids that young end up in Phuket fighting I don't know, but they were tough as nails.

And for you old salty dogs, this ain't your sailor's Phuket anymore. Here's the main road off Patong Beach which was pretty much the only road and unpaved when I was there last.  Mrs Oz and I actually met just outside that Rock Hard on the right which was a couragated tin Hard Rock back in the day. But with a real Hard Rock in Phuket now I guess they have to make a feeble gesture to honoring copyrights.

I'm wondering if your reaction might be a male psyche thing. I would guess my reaction at eating testicles might be skewed by the fact that THEY'RE TESTICLES. Conversely, women may derive a psychological high from that same thought.

Nelson claims he wants to stay D1 level...that said any chance Fasching or Caruso will give him a call?  ;)

I could see him at a MAC school like Miami (of Ohio) or Akron-- both have "passing" type offenses & from recollection during the Bowl season had Sr. QBs- (I didn't look it up,just going by a beer blurred memory).

maybe its just me, but based on these stats, I find it funny that Nelson wants to transfer to a pass-oriented program. Shouldn't you be an accurate passer to be wanting that?

That would seem like a logical prerequisite  ;)
