You'd think a loyal Johnnie and respected teacher at Hopkins High could have steered the kid to Collegeville.   ;) ::)

Didn't you read the article?  He's trying to get back on track and make better decisions.   ;)

but someone with weeds troubles transferring to Reefer Falls? Isn't that like someone joining Weight Watchers the same day they start a job as taster at Dove chocolates?

Is anyone in contact with freebird?  I'm at the Aussie Open tennis tonight and I was thinking that we haven't heard from him in quite a while.

He took a picture of some dirty Australian balloons and posted it to facebook, so maybe just keep an ear/eye out for Americans with cameras?

Bummer...I give credit to any 18 year old kid that branches out and tries college halfway across the country.  Hope things work out for him.  I enjoyed watching him carry the ball for the Johnnies.

It is disappointing to see Certeza go.  The article does imply it was academic related and not "homesickness".   Altho they could be related I spose.

I hope Fasching and the boys have a some plans, because Certeza looked pretty good most of the time (did have "happy hands" here and there), and he and Sura together could have been sweet.  Sura is solid.  I don't remember anyone else with Certeza's size/power.  Maybe they'll have another freshman coming along who'll surprise us.

That is a bummer.

I'm surprised Fasching commented that it was for academic reasons.  Seems like that didn't need to be said.

From being  a prized recruit at the U of M, to playing football at UWRF.

For his sake, I hope he can get his act together, and possibly revive his college football career.

Some over in the WIAC area would say he made a step up. I'm not sure they aren't right.

It appears the Tommies are going to dodge the Andre McDonald bullet as they are not on the UWRF schedule for the 2014 season.  Any idea who the Toms will play on the non conference portion of their schedule?
They are waiting till the Super Bowl is completed, expecting a challenge issued by Sherman in his postgame rant after Manning tordches him  like no DBack has been torched in a Super Bowl since they started using Roman numerals.

what do you people think of Goodell's proposed change to the PAT in the NFL? Would you like to see it trickle down(up?) to DIII?

If the NFL does move ahead with the proposal to award 7 points for a touchdown and then either add a point if you go for it and make it or subtract a point if you don't will definitely change the strategy of the game.

I seem to recall that back in the day there was discussion for upping the point count on longer field goals as well.

Of course, any scoring records in the books will then be forever recorded with an asterisk.

No way college would adopt that rule considering PATs are hardly a gimme at all levels of the NCAA. There is one set of playing rules for all three divisions.
