I'm with Pat.  After watching the Jeff Jones press conference, it would have made a lot more sense if they had the students cheer for their fellow classmate who was accepted to Carleton or Harvard.  The coach gave a talk before Jeff's announcement mostly about how lucky Jeff was to be born with this athletic talent and he should be applauded for doing the bare minimum in the classroom to become eligible for a scholarship.
I believe you mean "to nearly become eligible"... things I'm hearing say his academic side isnt exactly eligible (ACT score) but the family was told "no need to worry about that. It can be taken care of."  Try imagining Gags, Caruso, Fasching, Johnson, etc saying that--- impossible!
I heard he needs another .2 on the GPA and 1 point on the ACT.  He should be able to do that just by showing up every day to class, but that seems to be a big struggle for the youth in Minneapolis based on the strib article from last year defending giving bus passes to all the kids.

Tonight was the first game of the AFL pre-season, Geelong v Collingwood, and it was a surprisingly hard affair. Numerous injuries, a few season ending, including a shattered jaw.  Geelong staff were out on the field at halftime searching for Burbury's missing teeth.

Warning: this video is hard viewing.

After the carnage in this match I expect coaching staff will be turning down aggressiveness a bit.
Announcer: "Not that you want to freeze-frame it at home, but you can see his whole jaw move"- I'm not sure about the rest of you blokes but, that made me freeze-frame it so I could play it over and over again.....

#10 Ryan Arne tops Rashad Kennedy 11-7, but Kennedy bites Arne at the end of the match and gets DQ'd, Augsburg now leads 12-9.

That's about what I expect from Auggie Tech!  ::)

SUMMIT!!!!!

I just found the toughest job in college sports for 2014-15 year--- selling home football tix at Concordia-- they host Carleton, Olaf, GAC and Hamline.  Makes for a nasty road schedule, though. ouch
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

They usually save that stuff for Wartburg. Consider it a compliment.

From what the numbers show... I'm still assuming they will be in the top 10 in the country in attendance..

Augsburg and Bethel (the Cobbers' 2013 home opponents) travel noticably better than Carleton and Hamline (the Cobbers' 2014 home opponents).

Plus, the Auggies and Royals were more entertaining to watch from the perspective of a casual fan. If I'm going to stand out in the wind tunnel that is the Jake and watch a game, it surely won't be to watch the Cobbers hang 40+ on the Pipers and the Knights.

Someone really doesn't like me.  They are either logging on every day to -k me or have set up a robot to do it daily.  Dedication.  Kind of like Walter White and his 99.4% pure meth.

I noticed that happening to me after we beat U$T.  It was a time when things were kind of hot and heavy and I was wasting a lot of time checking here.  After I noticed the trend and started paying attention (not because I care about my karma, I was mildly interested in knowing who was so petty) I was able to correlate the -k with the posting activities of a certain never to be named poster.  Like most of us, I can be petty at times.  But not that petty.

p.s.  It could have been that picture of the beach you posted.  If you weren't a Johnnie I would have dinged you.

p.p.s.s.  I would have appreciated either a larger image or a tighter shot of that lovely young lady.
