So glad they had the punt returns against Stevens-Point.  I didn't get up to C-ville for that game and have only heard stories about them.  That was the last game played on grass at the Natural Bowl.
That was a miserable game.  The field was complete slop.  Their O-line was bigger than most NFL lines (I remember two 6'8"+ dudes), and I was one of our bigger D-linemen at 6'2" 235lbs.  Add cold weather and driving rain to the mix, and I was very happy when it was over and we escaped with a win.

A tradition unrivaled...

i dunno, Faunchie....if you looked like her, I'D give you a look ;D

Although Kupchella has me confused...why is he posting a story about a student at a college in Texas? (St. Thomas University is in Houston, the University of St. Thomas is local)

After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Just ask my friend's brother who backed into my car in the driveway without looking! He found that lesson out the hard way!

Man.  Tommies are everywhere.  There must be seven or eight thousand students at that school.

Morning all, been lurking and grinning at the off-season banter. I've been travelling for work this week so I haven't had a chance until this morning to post a couple of things that occurred earlier this week.

First thing is my kudos to JD Mehlhorn from Bethel who was awarded a NCAA post graduate scholarship - read more here: http://athletics.bethel.edu/news/2014/3/5/FB_0305144944.aspx

Second is, what are your folks' thoughts on the shake-up out east with Wesley joining the NJAC and the whole re-alignment of teams in the Empire 8 and the NJAC? Seems a wise move geographically but I wonder how some of the current rosters will take the news, as not all of the teams now in one conference that were used to getting to the playoffs will get there because only the top dog or maybe one other team from a conference gets to the big dance.

And we finally get above freezing today in the twin cities - spring is coming, just slower than most years.

Congrats to Blake Elliott '03, who today, was named to the 2014 College Football Hall of Fame ballot!...more to follow later today.

Great news for the best player I've ever seen play football. I'm well aware he's technically not the best player to have played but he was such a joy to watch. I spent 3-years standing on the SJU sideline during the Blake years. The things he did were incredible and the way he carried himself and treated all players made it easier to swallow the pill of having less playing time than one would prefer.

I know it was shared last week but if you haven't watched the highlight tape the SJU athletic department recently put out it is a must see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iw86Exo81oA

Keep your distance Oz or you might turn Japanese.
