BDB, this one is for you.

Downfall parody turned up to 11.

Ha! Another classic Hitler vid.  8-)

Good timing Oz. I've really been enjoying "The World Wars" series on the History Channel. My kids wonder why I always like to watch WWII programs. I tell them that I usually learn something I didn't know before. This series is rich in new info.

I enjoy WWII docos as well. Particularly ones on the Pacific war.

I'm about halfway through a 1946 movie, The Best Years of Our Lives, about three vets returned from WWII. It's an emotional sledgehammer. Very raw at times. It won Best Picture and I had never heard of it. I'll let you know if I recommend it after I finish, but the first half is quite good.  It's been riding the boundary of tragic quite hard and I find myself hoping that at least one man ends with a happy story but I fear all three will end poorly.

As long as I revealed some dark insight into what makes me laugh with Gangnam Hitler, this video also made me crack up.  Sometimes I wonder myself how I can possibly be both adult and conservative.  But life is full of mysteries, I guess.

My God, what a machine. Not something you will find on eBay.  ;)

2 things:

1) We are deep into the Stanley Cup Playoffs and no bennie commentary. I am worried.  :'(
2) Oz, we have me fags, light bulbs and pens so we are sorted.  8-)

Augsburg announced 39 of the incoming freshmen and transfers for the 2014 recruiting class last week. Looking good guys! I see some nice talent that will boost both offense and defense. Nice job by the coaching staff.

Well, my son got an invite to the Mount Union football camp! Hello SJU?

sjusection105

An amusing story from golf league yesterday afternoon. The guy I'm supposed to compete against calls in a sub,who happens to be a current member of the Concordia FB team. I picked a good night to wear one of my many SJU Football caps. Needless to say, old age and treachery beats youth and skill every time. My handicap is half of the young Cobber, but defeating him by twice the amount of allotted strokes did make me reconsider taking a run at the Senior Tour Q school in the fall....... ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Oh, the sledging (Australian for trash talking) would have been brutal.  You must have let him know that he just let the best chance of beating someone in SJU gear slip through his grasp. Hopefully, you let him know you would be there in the stands and would give him a wave. Congratulations on the victory and good job doing your part, 105, to keep the Magic (tm) alive.

I don't know if I mentioned it here, but tickets are booked to return home this fall and visit the folks. I was hoping for a good game at Clemens but the only timing that worked was Family Day against Hamline. Hopefully, the weather is nice and the Stiftungfestivities are hopping. I'll have to see if I can smuggle some witchetty grubs into the country.

Triple post, but I have to say that's a shame. A good jterm project for some computer science majors would be to build the atheletic dept a prospect management system. Make it all social networkie and troll Facebook/google+/YouTube to discover prospects for the school.

And carefully timed for the week after the Grand Final, if I'm reading the schedules correctly.    :)

And just last week a representative from U$T was at my high school sizing up next season's senior class.  They must be the only MIAC school meeting w/ coaches in the spring.  What I don't understand is why don't the others?  In a week 2 or 3 coaches could probably visit most of the metro schools and a number of the larger out-sate schools.

I also wonder why SJU wouldn't offer a couple of one day football camps during the summer.

SJU does not recruit.  SJU selects.  In all honesty I think not having spring football makes it tough to do too much recruiting in the spring time.  That being said it could be a lot worse for recruiting.  You should see the mess Southern Methodist (SMU) is in with recruiting in Dallas.  Apparently they can't remember kids names or whether they have even been offered.  They also don't really recruit within a 10 mile radius of their campus which means they miss out on some really good players that talk about going to SMU.

Apparently it made national news that UW-Whitewater won the 3 national titles this year.  I wonder if next year they will try to add quidditch.  I would like to remind all 'sconnies that TCU beat the Badgers in the Rose Bowl, and their enrollment is smaller than UWW.  Is anyone planning on coming down for the Minnesota/TCU game this fall?
