Buckman, Mn.

I can't believe Buckman comes up with a picture of Touchdown Tommy at the All Star Home Run Derby. Unreal.

The MIACPP continues to amaze.  8-)

Guys and gals,  just spent the night in the hospital for the first time in my life since I was born. They found a blood clot in the lower lobe of my right lung and lots more still in my legs. My words of wisdom from this ordeal are, "Be persistent in getting to the bottom of your malady with the doctor". Unfortunately for me, my primary doctor was on vacation when I first went in three weeks ago and I got someone that didn't really listen to my complaint of being short of breath and general malaise. So he ordered a round of antibiotics to cover the possibility that it might be bronchitis and ordered a heart stress test. My heart is in great shape, but still out of breath. See my primary on Monday because I'm not getting better fast enough, he orders a blood test which confirms a clot. Get a chest CT yesterday afternoon and spend the night in the hospital for observation to get my blood thinning medicine in line. Thankfully there was no necrosis of lung tissue, at least that could be seen in this CT.

Sorry to have to rain on the parade, but if you are not feeling well, don't rest until you get satisfactory answers from your health provider.  Get a second opinion if you have to. Life is too short as it is and you don't want to see it shortened unnecessarily.

Thanks for the words of wisdom! I hope you feel better soon.

Get well soon!

About ten years ago, my doctor refused to believe I was as sick as I was, even after I self-diagnosed pneumonia.  Finally my wife took me to the emergency room, where I was immediately admitted to the hospital with, yes, pneumonia.  Needless to say, I now have a different doctor!

But you're all good now, Art?  Good news to hear you got through Ok, even it was a bit traumatic.

I can diagnose your sickness from here, Ypsi, if you like.

Art have them do a blood test for factor v Leiden.   It is a blood clotting disorder that almost killed me about 3 years ago and ended my work career overseas since I am now in blood thinners for life.  I didn't know about it till a blood specialist informed me.  Be careful.

Well, but you'd probably diagnose me with liberal psychosis! ;D

Unlike my late father-in-law who was that difficult case of a hypochondriac who really did have some serious disorders, I'm a doctor-avoiding guy who downplays every ailment.  If only doctors would recognize that I am probably sicker than I say I am.  (If I think I have pneumonia, call an ambulance immediately!)

If it's not green and/or falling off you don't need to see a Doctor. ;)

Boys of Fall

Even though Bethel is the highest ranked MIAC team in the preseason poll at #7 they may still be underestimated.  This year they may have a good enough offense to go with their usual strong defense to make a serious run at the national championship.

As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Boys of Fall

Duff, didn't say I want it to happen, but it could happen.  A solid group from a strong team coming back with key additions might make them a team to watch.

DuffMan

According to our intern, Auggie Tech will be the team to watch.  :-*

Auggie Tech should have an explosive offense, if their defense can stop the stronger teams remains to be seen.
