Spoken like a true Auggie, "wait 'til next year".
Fair, but in that context next year is this year.
With that offense you should never be out of a game, even this year.  And if it doesn't work out, maybe they can live stream the Tommie game on that video screen.

Augsburg getting a bit presumptuous with their scoreboard mockup?   ???

Really, though, kind of a cool addition....that pig place needs all of the lipstick it can get.

At first view of the mockup, I thought their opponent was the Twin Cities Orthopedic College, and thought they were looking to pump up their win total.....maybe.

I reckon is has to be made up, particularly that second paragraph. I thought of doing a google search to see if that press release was genuine, but I fear the truth and would prefer to remain in my ignorant denial.

Encouraging Tommie sympathizers is not allowed at Edor Nelson's place.

Hey, you veteran Johnnie fans are letting us down!!  Good article from Frank yesterday in the St. Cloud Times about a number of transfers from DII and FCS programs.  Some look pretty promising:

Brett Watercott, WR from Becker, DB Randy Perez, a HS teammate of Trevor Warner transferring in from W. New Mexico, and Tim Lydon FB from Edina who was with N. Dakota St.

Won't be long till that first game.

Thanks MRF for the link. I was out yesterday chasing a little white ball for charity.
This is encouraging. They have to play the game on the field,but 11 transfers from DII & FCS schools can't hurt.....

It looks like the International Cup is on again and it appears that there are maybe five Johnnies playing for the USA Revolution.  Their first game was two days ago and they beat Finland 179 - 1.  They play Canada tomorrow and New Zealand on Saturday afternoon.  New Zealand is affiliated with the Hawks.  I might try to get to that game.  Talk about divided loyalties...

EDIT: It looks like it will be come big matches coming up.  Canada beat China 119 - 1 and New Zealand beat Sweden 162 - 1.  Maybe the Scandi nations should go back to hockey...

The start time of the Johnnies first road game was push backed. Haven't they typically played night games when they've traveled to UW-EC?

Four years ago it was a night game out at UWEC, two years ago it was an afternoon game that was delayed late in the 4th quarter due to lightning.

There was also a night game back at UW-EC in 2002. I believe this was SJU's first OT game. Unfortunately it ended in a loss. A look back at the box score shows the game ending was not typical....

Play-by-Play Summary (OT  quarter)
S 1-10 U25   SAINT JOHN'S UNIV. drive start at 15:00 (OT ).
  S 1-10 U25   Blake Elliott pass intercepted by Justin Miller at the UWEC16, Justin Miller
               return 0 yards to the UWEC16.
              =======================================
                SAINT JOHN'S UNIV. 21, UW-EAU CLAIRE 28
              =======================================

2005 was also a night game. SJU won that one 35-28.

In looking back at scores against UW-EC, the majority of games have been close. They've met 13 times in the regular season since 1999 and eight of the games have been decided by one score (8 points) or less. 5 have been won by two or more scores. In those 13 games SJU is 8-5. Those numbers don't include a 7-10 loss to UW-EC in the 2nd round of the 1998 playoffs.

The first SJU OT game was at PLU in 2000.  That 2002 game in EC sucked!   :(

Well, our Auggie finished up his internship with us yesterday so that he could head back for the start of football camp this weekend.  I will say that I was impressed with him; he certainly didn't fit the Auggie Tech stereotype.  :o  And I did avoid getting any beer bottles thrown at me, although he did threaten to burn any Johnnie propaganda that I brought for him.

It's hard to believe that summer is winding down already and that football season is nearly here!

Sounds like they need a 75 or 100 point mercy rule like the 10 run rule in softball. I can't imagine those kind of games are much fun to watch.

Since it's about that time that everyone reports to camp I feel it's important to let everyone know that I'm still alive and living in Fargo, which means I am now a HUGE Concordia Cobber fan. Hope to see everyone at "The Jake" on September 13 to see our boys put a whoopin' on Buena Vista.

I also am now like every other mouth-breather in Fargo who can't shut up about the Bizzzzzzon. "DERRRR, bring on Florida St. DERRRRRR, bring on 'Bama."
