Just logged on to say hello to all my pals.  The forecast for Saturday looks fantastic.  Five years is much too long.  It's time for the Johnnies to get back to the dance and do some damage.

Hey Benchwarmer:  will you be at UST on 9-27??  Hope nobody finds out that Caruso is a Nickelback groupie before the game!!  Shhh, our little secret.

Hey BlueDevil Bob:  why don't you join the tailgate party next week at UWEC?  6pm kick, I'm sure there will be plenty of trouble!!  Rumour that the Little Wiener Doggie aka Veek may even leave Morrison County for this roadie...

2014 Bold Prediction:  Bethel will play for the walnut & bronze in Salem.

Hope to get to the game. Wife's aunt is getting married, so I gotta put some in-law time in at some point before that. Thinking the UWRF weekend would be a good one to pull that off so as to build up some UST/SJU equity.

Also, I have a Nickelback story. I was bouncing at this bar in Grand Forks called the El Roco to make some extra cash before I moved to DC. At the time the bar was really popular with UND students so we'd often have a line to get in. Well, one particular night we hand a line to the end of the parking lot, so I was sneaking hot babes through the bottle shop. Well, a few hours into my shift this mountain of a man gets to the front of the line, bald, leather jacket, could probably squish me like a grape...nonetheless I ask him for his ID. Which he pulls out. A nice shiny Manitoban ID card, which was not that rare in these parts. Well, the next guy, tall, skinny, blond hair to his shoulders with a goatee did not have his ID. He kept saying "sorry" every other word, when I realized it was Nickelback's lead singer. Now, in 2005 I had no issue letting the guy in, but if it was 2014, I don't know. Anyway, he comes up to me later and says, "hey buddy, can you do me a favor and not call a bunch of your friends and let them know I'm here, I don't want to get harassed and stuff tonight." Kind of felt like telling him that none of my friends would cross the street to put him out if he was on fire, but, he was polite for the most part so I figured I could be.

Not as cool as the night Ric Flair and Batista showed up and I told the new guy to make Batista put his shirt back on. New guy chickened out, so Batista got to rock out all night sans shirt. Also Ric Flair threw a guy's cell phone at the wall and it shattered into a bunch of pieces. it was pretty awesome.

I guess another way of saying it is as great as stronger, better-conditioned athletes are, the thing I'm really dying to see again in Collegeville is an All-American QB, WR or RB. Those are the players who make anything seem possible.

Of course, the two aren't necessarily unrelated either. There's certainly a need for a baseline of athletic ability...at the same time, Talent is Overrated.

SC Tech is playing at SJU tonight, and the game is available on the SJU portal.  Free preview!  The production looks pretty decent.

I just watched a little of the SC Tech v Grand Rapids replay.  Tech are very good or Rapids are very bad.  On the bright side, I counted three cameras in the couple minutes I viewed.  The only thing missing was a game clock integrated into the graphics.  Was quite good.  Looking forward to tomorrow.

The schedule makers missed the mark on this on, should have played Oct. 31 and had a costume rental shop in St. Cloud as the lead sponsor as both teams are orange, black & white "Halloween Machines"
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

What the H? How can I get video, or at least the audio for the game. New Year, I'm confused.

Ok, all.  Video quality and audio was excellent.  Capacity was horrible.  If improved, then it will be spectacular.  Links available at gojohnnies.com

Good win to start the season in Collegeville.

Although it was bit of a shaky second half for the Johnnies.
They held the ball for all but a minute and a half of the third quarter, but only managed to get 3 points for their efforts.

Not bad for the first game of the season. Definitely some things to improve.
I'm glad I was able to watch most of the game.

My suspicion is that Stretch just didn't know what they were getting into.
I would be interested in hearing what kind of viewership the webcast had.

I agree that the quality was pretty darn good...very impressed w/ it especially considering it was the first production.  Camera guy (or gal) needs to get better at following the play and framing the video.  At times I felt like I was watching the game from the pressbox.
Also..what is up w/ the window frame of the pressbox getting in the way of endzone shots?

I sent Stretch a support request at halftime and got this response within a few minutes:

Hello:

We apologize for any issues you might be seeing at the moment. We are working to resolve the issues ASAP. Please try your action again in 10-20 minutes and let us know if you continue to experience issues.

Thank you and we apologize for the inconvenience.

I've got a 40 up/40 down connection and never saw more than three- or four-second spurts, followed by 10-20 seconds of frozen frame. Pretty much worthless.
