If you know who 413 is, check the coaching staff of Mac's opponent. :)

Anyone know what is going on with the GAC/SJU webcast this weekend?  The GAC site says that it is being produced by SJU, but the link on the SJU site takes me right back to the GAC site.

Who is going to Gustavus this weekend?

My lady and I will be driving to St. Peter from Sioux Falls.
If memory serves, there is a place off campus where people meet (as tailgating is not allowed on campus), but I cannot remember where.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

It looks like that is an audio only link to the SJU radio broadcast, thus the 11:00 start time.  Below that they list a 12:50 start for the GAC video and audio links.  Hope that helps.

If it's the same Tom Svendsen, he was a teammate of my dad's, and from what I've been told, a helluva wrestler for SJU in the early '70s.

Ah!  That link was either not there yesterday, or I glossed over it.  Thanks for pointing it out!

Thanks, 105. I will gladly use and keep your red cup.

Duff, I'm going to bring some amber nectar to share. Can you make me a good Minnesota recommendation?

Since Duff is neglecting his responsibilities - here are a few of my favorite local breweries:

Surly (in particular, Furious) - delicious IPA, but pretty strong as they go, so you'll have to meter your consumption if you want to remember the game.

Indeed - variety of good beers...haven't had one that I didn't like yet.

Fulton - Sweet Child of Vine and Lonely Blonde - another bonus for you is that it is run by SJU guys.

Lift Bridge Brewing- Stillwater.

Steel Toe - St. Louis Park

Lucid - Minnetonka.

There are enough local breweries that most liquor stores have a section for MN beers now...and I'm sure they'll be happy to recomend their favorites as well. (or is it favourites?)

I'll attest to that. I believe he was ranked Nationally. ('72 Grad here)

Thanks for the tips, G&B. I will bring some tasties to share around.

And duffman was giving me good recommendations in some PMs. Never doubt: Johnnies are stand up guys!

Due to some restructuring, Frank R. will be leaving the sports department at the SC Times according to his twitter feed.  He will cover SJU football for the rest of the season, however.  I know newspapers are struggling, but I sure hope the Times does not scale back its coverage of SJU athletics.  I always thought Frank did a nice job covering SJU football.  I will miss his reporting.

Edit:  He's still with the Times, just in a different role.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe he will land somewhere else and continue his coverage of SJU and the MIAC.

With the crazy stuff going on in Gannett these days, the Times just might create a Red Cups beat that would be right up Frank's alley. That chain does a lot of strange sxxx and, as they say, the accent is always on the "net."

Best of luck to a great beat writer.

Frank will still be with the Times, just in another assignment.

Kind of sad for me.  I first met Frank in 1996 when he was our high school beat reporter.  He then started covering SJU while I was playing there.  So, I guess I've known Frank for somewhere around 18 years!

I know you peek at these boards from time to time, Frank--all the best to you!

Maybe he could join WCCO and cover UST. This comes to mind:
