Top 25 rankings prediction: BU treads water, SJU moves up one, maybe two but I don't think so with that AUG game, and CON unfortunately drops out. Maybe they can hold onto 25th but I think they are out.

I think BU and SJU will be the only 2 MIAC teams in the top 25 after this week's poll. That's the unfortunate consequence of having too many good teams in the conference this year, they end up beating up on each other. It will be interesting to see how far Linfield drops after their first loss.

I thin you're taking GAC much too lightly. Bethel will be the favorite and if they protect the ball and play the way they're capable of, they should win.

What makes it interesting is that both favorites are playing on the road. UST hasn't lost to the Cobbers at home since their 2-8 2007 debacle of a season. The home field factor might be significantly diminished for UST in terms of crowd support though. Historically, when UST isn't atop the standing or in the playoff hunt, Summit & Snelling folks tend to jump on the MAC bandwagon  ;)  ;D

This is gonna be a fun stretch run in the MIAC. I'm hoping Bethel wins out (shocker  :o) but also that the Cobbers can close things out. I want to see another MIAC team in the playoffs via Pool C.

We agree that Bethel is the likely winner in this game, but I'm not taking it lightly - I just don't think GAC will stay that close. They'll want to but be unable to. It might become a Monkey Stomp and I'd be surprised it Bethel wins by less than two scores (nine points). Maybe you've seen something I haven't in the Gusties and I'll be eating crow next week, but I write 'em like I see 'em.

I would also like to see Concordia take care of business this week against the Tommies, but again, I'll stand by my words that this looks to be the better (closer score) of the two games.

Go Bethel!

Hazz,

These black feathers taste ok with lots of ketchup on them.  ;D

Art, you really don't have to eat too much as your prediction wasn't that far off. Bethel pretty much gave GAC that last td since they were up by 14 with less than 2 minutes to go, they just didn't want to give up a quick score. But it was a hard fought game and if not for some questionable officiating it wouldn't have been that close IMO.

Is this the message board for 7-1 teams in the West Region?  Scots, Royals and Johnnies!

I would add that UST will probably receive more votes, but I doubt it will be enough to break back into the Top 25. They will probably be 3-7 points out.

Though GAC fought Bethel real hard, my guess is that they will not receive anymore votes.

I'm hopeful that the Wildcats drop below Bethel because the pollsters will take into account who Bethel lost to (#6 Wartburg) vs. who Linfield lost to (unranked and receiving no votes Willamette).

And I won't be too surprised if Mount or MHB pick up some first place votes because WW had a pretty pedestrian day today.

I just sent word to Kubiak and his mates.  They'll keep their eyes open for CT as well...

How funny😜 you guys almost got me just north of Rockford, IL around 5:30 am...had the Cruise control set at 80 mph, with a laser & radar dector, with my brother in another car on my tail and a state trooper pulled out and got the unlucky fokes trailing my Brothers car! Close call😱 slowed down the rest of the way, especially in Wisconsin! They hate us FIBS. Took 6 hours, made it for a short tailgate. Just dropped my son and some of his teammates back at the school after their victory steak...man those kids can eat! Next time its victory Chicken Wings! I don't know if my wallet can handle feeding those animals a steak the next time they win😅 the cobbers played a great game! back and forth until the end! Johnny Gold looks like he is the new starting QB for UST...Matt O'Connell is a classly guy but it looks like there is a new QB for UST.  Gold just needs to grow a few inches! He can't see over the line if he doesn't have a clear passing lane. Looks like the next couple of games for the MIAC will be very exciting! Even though UST will be a long shot to get a pool c bid IMO. Back to Chic town in the am! Man I hate the drive back...one more scotch and lights out!

Hazzben -

You're right!  If not for crappy road performances by both our squads on September 13, we would both be undefeated.

That said, Martin has great chance of leading SJU to conference title and that's all you can ask for (well, other than maybe 2 completions).

(I also don't think this is a huge negative thing. I mean, yeah, you want a passing attack in this day and age, but what I always loved about Gagliardi was how the teams adapted over the years. Sometimes won with defense, sometimes with quadruple option, then turned SJU into an aerial attack ahead of its time. Win with what the personnel is and go to your strengths. These Johnnies are doing just that.)
Great point sfury. Remembering a few years back when Bethel had zero forward pass and were forced to go for 2 after every TD because that had nobody on the roster who could make a PAT and they found a way to win. Now that the Johnnies are in a situation where the passing game is struggling,is it a confidence issue with the QB or timing with the receivers or a combination of both. I know one thing is sure, completing 1 of 6 passes for 6 yards probably isn't going to get it done against a very good Bethel team. At least Bethel has to waste time in practice game-planning on the Bungum out of the backfield scenerio.    Go Johnnies, Beat Bethel!
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

That seems like an odd statement to me. If you think Bethel will be wasting their time preparing for it, then the only way that would be true is if SJU never ran Bungum out of the backfield. I don't know why they would abandon an offensive weapon just so the opposing team will waste time preparing for it. Besides, since Bethel doesn't have to prepare for the Johnnie passing game, they have to game plan for something.  :o

True. Bungum had more production out of the I-formation yesterday than he did at WR in the past 3 games combined. As Gary Fasching said on the post game interview yesterday "We set the passing game back 50 years today".
On the one & only completion of the day ROR asked "what do you call that play?" my response "a pass completion...for a TD"

It's pretty discouraging sitting in the stands seeing open receivers either be under thrown, over thrown or flat out drop a catchable pass  :'(

I think this is all a great stragety by Gary-forget the pass so Bethel doesn't prepare for it, then throw 90% of the time-that will catch them!
On a more serious note-I hope this game is like the 409 game.

I feel like I'm back in the dark ages. I used to look for the JOHNNIE score in the Sunday paper, then I had many years enjoying VOJ on my computer. This year I could kind of watch and hear the game on Stretch. Yesterday I got nothing. For some reason my various devices, computer or tablets can't get the radio station(s) and only (wait) on Stretch. It didn't matter whether I tried SJU, Augsburg or D3 links. -- same thing. Sure hope they get something better next year. :(

I agree, 57, that a new service next year would be nice.  I have yet to get Stretch to work on the iPad during a game.  Replays fine, live events not.

For all the anticipation of live video, the result has been really disappointing.
