I feel like VOJ with a big, juicy bratwurst today.  I spilled coffee all down my front at 8:30 and have been walking around with my jacket buttoned trying to hide the mess.

Might as well get it out of the way: The election is over, some folks are happy and some folks are not.  Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I suspect Martin is at QB, Sura is at RB, and Bungum is at WR for a reason.

Yes, the reason being to throw off Steve Johnson and the Royals.  :-*

All part of the three year plan.

I think you underestimate just how cunning Gary is!  ;)

My only point was I think Gary and the coaches feel Martin is their best QB, Sura is their best RB, and Bungum is a good WR.  If they thought otherwise guys might be in different positions.  With that said I wouldn't be surprised to see some trickery on Saturday.  I also know that Jim G. doesn't have the best reputation on this board with his short side options, but he has shown in years past to run HB pass options, reverses, and the like.  Some of that might come out on Saturday.  But then again, what do I know, I haven't seen a practice all year.

I'd love to page back through the pages on this board from two years ago.  A lot of dirt was being shoveled on the grave of SJU football.  There were a lot of people on this board and in MIAC circles that thought Johnnie football was dead.  Credit goes to the SJU admin, Gary, Jimmy, Damian D, and even Kurt Ramler for helping to right the ship.  I'll admit that I'm pleasantly surprised that the Johnines are playing for a share of the conference lead on the second to last Saturday of the season.  Wish I could make it up for the game but instead I will be following the live scoring from SW State in Marshall.

Meh...maybe a lot of UST posters and some reactionary, sky is falling Johnnie posters. I think the majority assumed SJU wouldn't stay down forever. Especially once they hired Fausching, I felt like they were on the right track. I was really bummed they didn't go with Grant (for Bethel's sake), that might be a poor read on how he'd have done as a college coach, but it was my gut feeling.

Go Johnnies!
(I'm pretty stoked for this weekend's big game.  It's been a long time since we've had a reasonable hope for a conference championship.)

I am surprised by the success this year-I thought it would take another year, at least, with Gary's recruits. But I also wonder what happened to UST-but in the beginning of year I thought SJU would probably lose to UST, Bethel and Concordia-so I hope SJU only loses to one of them.
I have learned my lesson-don't underestimate SJU!

So basically the Johnnies must win to make the playoffs while BU may be able to survive a loss. All right then. Roll on the Collegeville Magic (tm).

If I were a Cobber fan I might be a bit unsettled about now. While they may be feeling the sting of last week's loss to St. Thomas, their SOS is higher than either St. Thomas or St. John's.

41 Concordia-Moorhead    6-2    .750    .5357 (72)    .5657    0.546
76 St. Thomas    6-2                    .750    .4912 (122)    .5906    0.524
101 St. John's    7-1                    .875    .4909 (125)    .5558    0.513

And better than all the rest of the teams listed below Linfield:

91 Chapman    6-1                    .857    .5227 (94)    .5065    0.517
43 UW-Platteville    6-2            .750    .5385 (70)    .5533    0.543
64 UW-Oshkosh    4-1            .800    .5312 (79)    .5359    0.533
198 Pacific    5-1                    .833    .4103 (204)    .5072    0.443

If Bethel wins, then all three MIAC teams left have two losses, one would hope that in the next Regional ranking the team with the better SOS would be listed above the other two. If Bethel loses, then they are at the top of the heap with a monster SOS:

9 Bethel    7-1                            .875    .6429 (9)     .5357    0.607

Others who have been on these boards longer may help those Cobber fans understand the injustice of it all.
