UWP is 0-2 v RRO, SoS .524

If they beat UWO, then UWO won't be regionally ranked any longer. If UWP loses, then they drop out as well.

I'd be surprised to see UWP above Bethel: 2-2 v RRO, .625 SoS. Biggest knock on UWP, as Pat/Keith like to say, it's not who you lost to so much as who you've beaten.

The national committee will look at only the highest ranked team from each region and compare them against the other three based on the criteria. So they are comparing the highest regionally ranked (no other poll has any bearing) at large team from the West, East, North and South.

If they select the North team, the next ranked North at large candidate slides onto the board and they compare the four teams again. So it's possible for a one loss, unbeaten (Say Centre) and two loss team all to be on the board together.

Definitely possible a two loss team gets in, less likely that two would, but a lot can happen on Saturday.

We'll learn a lot tomorrow with the newest regional ranking.

I got a new job yesterday, I've been promoted to head greenskeeper here at Bushwood. I wouldn't normally mention an event like this, but when I found out last Wednesday and told the wife this No Way moment actually happened:

Literally five minutes after walking in the door last Wednesday (I'd called during the day with the news) she asked me if I had noticed that Mercedes SUV someone has for sale on the way home from the station (I drive a 15 year old Camry). "You're kidding, right?"  "What do you mean?  They just dropped the price and it looks like a good deal."  She claims it had no relevance at all to the day's events. I'm smiling to myself as I type this. Cracks me up.

Here you go. I found this clip of Bushwood from the 1980s...

If a two loss team gets in-bethel or Platteville-maybe both? But Platteville's two loses are to the wiac champ and, I think, second place North Central or both loses to ranked opponents. Yes, Bethel losses to iiac and MIAC co-champ. I could see the ncaa not wanting to re-match the teams in the first round, so Platteville gets ranked higher to play SJU. I don't know if the ncaa is putting all one loss non-aq teams on the board first and then selecting the best 6 or are one and two loss teams in the mix from the start?
Hazzben already corrected some of your misconceptions about the pool C selection process but I should point that bracketing is done after selecting.  There is no "West Region" bracket in the tournament.  They could take 6 pool C teams from the West region and spread out the West teams in all corners of the bracket.

Also, Bethel is a pool C lock.

If Monday is any indication, you'll need them.  The SJU area picked up over a foot of the junk--that's really early!

Liked the sound of the "Nails" on the cartpath. Love soft spikes, but miss the clackety clack at times.

Retired Old Rat

Congratulations to Pat on 17 years of d3sports.  You've certainly made it easier to follow d3 across the country.  And added a lot of fun.  I've met many people through the boards that I now consider friends.

Looking forward to another 17 years.
