Where is that poster from the other conference....could use his unbiased take on slandering an opponents head coach after you've beaten them.  I'm sure at least he'd take the suicide comments to task .... you loose a few friends to suicide and you stop using it as a joke. 

As far as Caruso is concerned.  My current thinking is this....

Character: He is a Greenwich CT guy threw and threw.  If you don't like it, take it up with society in general. The fact is he came to the lowly old prairie that we so feverishly protect and won a head coaching job at 33(?) - a spot we generally save for 40/50 something's in our culture.  He then went on to out recruit and out coach most of his peers in the area - with the CT attitude.  It's worked for him....and I don't see him changing anytime soon. I think it is a little petty for folks in our community to try and run some smear campaign in the meantime. 

Future: As long as the Tommie's are winning I'm not going to get terribly upset about who the coach is (will still criticize decisions).Personally I like what happened at Gonzaga basketball with Few taking over after Monson left and would be delighted to see that unfold at UST.  So if GC leaves that's fine, but I'm not going to push him out. In the meantime the only way he gets the call from his dream school is with more winning - which is good for UST.

I still stand by this statement.

All right, call it arrogance.  In this case, that means making public your own high expectations of yourself.  If high expectations and making them known are considered laughable and bulletin board material for other coaches, let me ask you which is the greater of the two:

1) This schedule produced by the SID as UST
2) The "1" in the SJU logo

Nothing wrong with having high expectations but maybe keep it thumb tacked to the bulletin board in you own locker room.

This is rather comical coming from an individual who regularly takes personal character shots at Coach Caruso. Over, and over and over again!   But since you brought it up, I have honestly never given a thought to that logo, and now that I've had my first one, I think it perfectly generalizes the johnnie faithful........ Self Absorbed an Tasteless!!

While I like the SJU logo we have, I am a big fan of the older logo that continues to be used by the baseball team.



It has a great old English feel to it.

Olde English and college weren't always the best mix for me.

Yeah, since the coaching staff had anything to do with the logo design. 

Something tells me that a storied coach, known to walk on the water of Lake Sagatagan in the eyes of some, might have been able to influence a change over the many years.

I don't think Tim Miles pays much attention to the logo. It isn't used on any track & field or cross country uniforms or warmups.

Or maybe you meant John. He is many things but a stylist, designer and maniacal control freak he is not.

It looks like someone took the color schemes and fonts from Linfield, UST, and Stephen F. Austin and ham-fistedly made a logo. I could see if they made a mistake and used the St. Thomas - Houston logo, but where did this even come from?
