Everyday is payday in paradise.

Any bets as to whether Oz will wake up in time?
Go SJU! Thinking about the drive to Waverly next weekend-or maybe just wait for WhiteWater

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

I hope SJU is recruiting some of these Becker kids...some of them can really play.
The old Novak charm will go a long way in getting some of these boys to Collegeville.

Brandon: "Yeah, I loved growing up in Becker. I went to SJU, I was the MIAC MVP,an All-American and a pretty good wrestler too. I can see myself, when I look at you. So, you comin' to SJU?"

Recruit: "Could I?"

Brandon: "Yea, sure"

Recruit: "I'm in" "Let me check with my coaches..."

Brandon: "Cool." "Crap"

Recruit: "What do you guys think?"

Coach Lundeen: "My kids all had a great experience at Bethel, athletics included!"

Coach Meidt: "Yeah, Olaf is terrible right now, go to Bethel and Sin Win!"

Recruit: "Ok, sounds good."

;) ;D 8-)

Great football game today, just fell a little short.

Domeier (sp) v. Sura will be an intriguing match up. Wartburg's secondary is as good as I've seen all year. UST was able to get their TEs open down the middle of the field and did an ok job running the ball, but playing behind we had to abandon the run. Wartburg's QB can run really well and Jacobsmeier is an unbelievable WR.

Sounds like UST gave Wartburg a run for their money.
While I always enjoy watching the folks from the corner of Cretin and Summit get beat, there was a small part of me that wanted to see Johnnie-Tommie II.
A second match-up wouldn't have near the atmosphere as the first meeting--the NCAA tends to suck the flavor out of just about everything it touches1--but it would've been the best atmosphere of any game we would have the chance to see in this year's playoffs.

   ------------------------------------------------------------------

1 I swear the NCAA could take water and make it even more flavorless--but only if it is DasaniĀ®.

That.  I agree.  I wanted to see it happen again.  Now we just have to look forward to ending Wartburg's run.

Congratulations, Johnnies, on making the second round. It's been a long time coming.

Also, we'll played Tommies. We'll if we can't take it to Wartburg.

Yea, Lundeen did send his own sons to Bethel, but he's also from my hometown (many years older than me) but maybe I could convince him to let Novak have the last visit with each recruit. Done deal SJU  8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Congrats to both MIAC teams for a well played first round.  Wishing St. John's the best vs. Wartburg.
St. Thomas, way to make the Pool C selection look good.  That was a heck of a comeback and effort overall.

Based on the "seedings" SJU should be traveling to Wartburg next weekend. Does anyone think that the NCAA could move the game to Collegeville to try to capitalize on the gate? Based on the regional rankings there's no way they move it from Waverly, but it is the NCAA after all.

I'll sit back and watch my K get dropped by the Wartburg supporters for merely suggesting such a possibility.

Congrats to St Thomas on a great year...they played Wartburg tough and had as close to a perfect offensive game as it gets...pick #1 was inches over the intended receiver and pick #2 was just a great play by Wartburg. 7 for 7 on 4th down and no drops by recievers...well played Tommies...there are good things to come for Coach Caruso and Co. over the next few years.

The St. Thomas players, coaches, and fans are a classy group of people.

That is an excellent team you brought down to Iowa today.  The Tommies really mix it up, it was a fun game to watch.

7 for 7 on 4th down attempts, that is insane.  It sure kept things close.

#75 is a mountain.

I always feel a tug at my heart when the seniors are hugging parents, girlfriends, teammates, and coaches as they realize this was likely the last time they will suit up for a game.

That Oakland Raiders look is intimidating.  :o

I just found out that this weekend's game was victory #600 for Johnnie football.

Zero chance this happens.
