I'm just a confused, simple-minded WIACer, who isn't sure if he should use stats to assess and evalute this question...  ;D

But as an old-schooler, I'd say Cheryl Tiegs* passes the "eye test."

* Mr. Ypsi - that might be the only thing you and I agree on!  ;)

Michigan fires Brady Hoke. Discuss among yourselves……
http://btn.com/2014/12/02/michigan-fires-football-coach-brady-hoke-after-four-seasons/

What's there to discuss?

Beyond the facts, of course, that I-94 is a straight shot to Ann Arbor and only 9h 17m away with no traffic from St Paul while Delta has eight direct flights a day and they are only 1h 45m from MSP.

Speaking of SI... Quiz time: The best SI swimsuit cover ever?

My vote is for Elle MacPherson's first cover in '86.

Discuss...

EDIT: To refresh your memories (and if you need to refresh your memories this this probably isn't the right quiz for you), here is the Wiki page with the list of swimsuit cover models.

Looking at that list I reckon the best name is from '66, Sunny Bippus.

Showing my age, you can take any of the Cheryl Tiegs or Christie Brinkley covers as my favorite.

It's the 2nd of December, the Johnnies have only been out of the playoffs for three days and we're already drooling over SI Swimsuit cover.  What pathetic lot this is.   ;)

For all the MIAC teams, it is now the off-season.  And I'll take Christie Brinkley over Hamm's or ice fishing any day!

Mr.MIAC

Some off topic gossip, but a little bird over at Cretin and Summit just told me St. Thomas and St. Kate's are eyeing a merger over the next couple of years. I found this piece of information interesting since St. Thomas just announced its new strategic plan. Some areas earmarked for growth are those in which St. Kate's excels. Developing...

What about Hamm's and ice fishing?  Now there is a tough choice.

Naw.  Christie Brinkley in a nice, warm motel room beats the hell out of Hamm's and ice fishing!! ;D

(Can you tell that I am confident my wife will never check this chat room?!)

It's Christmas carols at #'s 2 & 3 catholic primary school tonight. 74 degrees. Last week we had a few days where it was still over 90 at 7pm. I'm not complaining. But it is true that even after 21 years it still doesn't seem like Christmastime. I do miss that a bit.

Did any Johnnie fans see any of the JV games this year? Are there any FY or Soph diamonds in the rough? We need a TE, losing both the graduation.

Anybody know how many of Lance's assistants will be going with him to SUNY-Buffalo?

http://footballscoop.com/the-scoop/

"Buffalo: Lance Leipold has hired a number of assistants from his Wisconsin-Whitewater staff – defensive coordinator Brian Borland, offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, offensive line coach Daryl Agpalsa and wide receivers coach Alan Hensell. He has also retained running backs coach Matt Simon and defensive line coach Chris Cosh from the previous staff."

If true, this is very interesting.

Oh, that's rough for the program. Hopefully LL has been a good leader and has developed his staff to fill the holes. That reads like a clean sweep of senior leadership which is tough for any organisation to weather.

EDIT: In fact it's hard to believe it's true. There must be some sort of non-compete or staff-poaching clause in senior coach contracts against this sort of thing. I think this is extremist and incorrect rumor mill rather than fact. I find the idea that someone would not only leave an organisation that he's had such a good relationship with but then also gut it and leave it utterly exposed to be unbelievable. Therefore I don't believe it.

See you copied my post from the WIAC board.  Football Scoop has a very good reputation and is well connected in the coaching community, not saying that they couldn't be wrong but they typically don't post things unless there is truth behind them.

It would be hard to believe he would gut the coaching staff like that but think about the opportunity for these coaches that would go with him.  The salary upgrade alone from being a D3 assistant to the Division 1 level is significant.  Hard to fault any of them from leaving.

Jerry Kill has done this to the programs he has coached at each time he left for something bigger and better.  I wonder if he will consider the Nebraska vacancy? Anyway, I wouldn't be suprised if LL took alot of his staff with him.
