Beer and Gagliardi get mentioned a lot in this forum, but not usually together!

Cool!  I've gotta try Fulton's if I ever make it into their marketing area.

The Beer is probably very very bitter like most of the Johnnies on this board

CT, Coach Caruso's speaking at clinic in Chicago tomorrow. Any chance you'll be in attendance?

Drug or alcohol recovery?  I know I get a bit acerbic as my passions run away from me in the Johnnie/Tommie rivalry, but a guy just can't help but wish those down-on-their-luck-in-Chicago Tommies well on their tough road back to the straight and narrow.

Good luck Tommies. Tomorrow you don't suck.

Quiet - must be cabin fever  :)

Well, I, unfortunately, have been particularly busy at work.  Also, my life has been particularly boring lately because it has been dominated by work.  A double drag, man.  That being said, I'm working so much because I've been abiding quite well.  Effort is way up, stress is way down.  Abiding.

In fact, it is noteworthy that Sam Elliot shared a sarsaparilla with me last week.  Relaxing.

I sure hope it was a Sioux City.

Have you seen Sam on Justified? I have a hard time looking at him without a mustache. In a chat with the Coen brothers on my Big lebowski DVD, they confess that one of the reasons they like casting Sam, is that when they need to change some of his dialogue, it's very easy since you can't see his mouth, and they can dub anything they want without having to reshoot the whole scene.

My excuse is that I have been terrified. You see, my son got his driver's permit and I have been trying to teach him how to drive. These are 2 things neither one of us has done before, him behind the wheel and me teaching from shotgun.

If any Driver's Ed survivors out there have advice for me I'll listen. In the meantime my nerves are shot. I'm like Barney Fife with a pistol.

Something exciting happened!  The UFC announced it is are coming to Melbourne on Nov 15 (Nov 14 Stateside). My mates and I have a night of violent, bloody cage fighting to look forward to.

I've never watched Justified but I just googled his pic from the show and that ain't right. He looks half the man he is without the 'stache.

It is SO weird seeing his upper lip. Especially since its a thin, unique and off center sort of smirk. He also doesn't seem to age. He looks more or less the same age as he did roadhouse.

I don't know if this will be of any help, but I took my sin to a very large parking lot on a weekend when there were no other cars until he at least got a feel for how fast the car accelerated and braked, and could make wide turns without consequence. Then you can try to use the parking lines to simulate road lanes until he has control of the steering. I didn't get on the road until after he had some behind the wheel experience with a real teacher.

I also took my eldest son out into a vacant lot to first get an idea of vehicle mass and directional stability. My younger son just got his permit and I've yet to go out with him - probably over his spring break.

I was lucky/fortunate as a teen growing up out in the sticks - I was able to drive a 57 Ford field car in 8th grade and had a hoot. The neighbor boys dad let us go up and down the cornfield behind our houses after the corn had been harvested. I had been driving tractors for a couple of years so it was a speed thing to get used to. And doing doughnuts to our hearts content. The challenge back then was to keep from sliding away from the steering wheel - no seatbelts.

Alas, my kids are "city kids" and do not/did not get the same opportunities I was afforded.

When I was a teenager there was something in MN called a "Farm Permit"- at age 15 you could legally drive (alone) during daylight hours as long as you were on "farm business"- picking up parts from the tractor dealer, that type of thing. I always kept a broken U-joint in the trunk of my Camaro in case I got pulled over when I wasn't really on "farm business"  :o

Friday night Forest Gump on the tube. A good movie. I always wonder why it gets such a bum rap. It's easy to watch and has a good message. But then I still tear up at the end of Ol' Yeller.
