After reading of the QB & RB heading to Bethel and the stalwart recruiting class from the greater Chicago area heading to U$Td in the fall, I just sent an email to Tom Stock asking that he mercifully withdraw from the MIAC schedule for the 2015 season. Perhaps taking a year off to regroup and find some crumbs on the recruiting trail and maybe comeback in 2016.....  :'(  that's all I've got.

I am surprised that SJU did not get Bloom. One of the Rogers coaches is a Johnnie.

Oh, stop it!  All your jealousy is starting to make me feel bad.

No more red cups.  A little birdie told me that SJU is going to be a dry campus starting next fall.  The faculty were informed of this during this past week.  This includes special events like Homecoming and reunions.  Developing . . .

Now it's time to cry!

Next they'll ban dancing.

But on the plus side, we'll get The Best QB And Running Back Ever (tm) as a result.  So it ain't all bad.

Interesting development. Any relation to events of the past getting out of hand,or just administration avoiding any gray areas & stopping it cold?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Wow, hard to believe - they have a fair number of events and such on campus - reunions, wedding receptions, etc. that serve.  Some lost revenue there.

Mr. Ypsi

And if they actually enforce dry tailgates, I wonder what that would do to attendance? ;)

(Me thinks there will be no enforcement at tailgates as long as discretion is used, but I have never been to SJU.)

I imagine there may be a student drinking problem, particularly underage drinkers. Could be that less dramatic efforts have not resulted in the outcomes the administration had hoped for so they are going tough on everything.  That argument is persuasive to me and a little sacrifice and example from adults in the science lot may be the thing needed in order to avoid any doubt as to policy.

Still sucks mightily, though.

Absolutely. I have it on good authority that it was a visit from an alum from, shall we say down under, who couldn't control himself on a certain Saturday last fall. The administration realized they had no choice but to act in the matter. ;)

Really?  Really?  They have a pub on-campus.  There is a huge beer/wine tent at the homecoming celebration on the Tundra.  What the heck?

A tradition unrivaled...

Come on over this fall.  Take in an SJU game--3rd Street Brewery is only 15 minutes or so from campus.

Ha!  Tempting!

You'd be hooked for life.  :o

If they go dry the tundra will be bare at Homecoming.

When I was at SJU, it was completely ''''dry''''  ;D
...... Of course there were no campus police either ;)

Ha!  I immediately had an mental image of 57 and his rat pack mates hanging on the side of a car doing a moonshine run down from Canada.
