On the topic of best sports movies you can not leave The Natural off the list can you?  Just saying. ;D

The Natural is one of my favourites, too. I like the book even better because it is darker. Hobbs strikes out, a victim of his selfishness, and lives the rest of his life a lonely man. A tragic and complete opposite ending to the movie.

The Sandlot
Michael "Squints" Palledorous walked a little taller that day............

"Where'd your old man get that ball?"
"I don't know.  Some lady gave it to him.  She even signed her name on it.  Some lady named ... Ruth, Baby Ruth."

Another of my favorites.
"Hey, is that your sister out there in left field  naked.  You think she'd go out with me?"
"Strange days have found us.  Strange days have tracked us down." .... J. Morrison

Although it was a made for TV movie I liked Brian's Song for football movie and Bang the Drum Slowly for baseball.

One of my favorite sports movies - Rudy. Not sure if it is "the" best - but it should be on any list for voting.

Lot's of great one's already listed. I'd throw in Chariot's of Fire - the best stories come from real life.
