They have to buy their own chalices?  Can't they lease with an option to buy?

Yeah, apparently, you buy your priestly supplies.  Chalice, vestments, etc.

A tradition unrivaled...

I thought the Knights of Columbus helped out with this stuff.

Mostly by parents...But the kids also stayed at University of St. Thomas' Bernardi Campus, located on the west bank of the Tiber River at Lungotevere delle Armi in Rome for 4 Days which helped on boarding cost a lot.

Thanks CT (and Pat)- this poses a question. If there is a kid who is on the bubble and his parents aren't flush with cash (I know, far fetched at U$T) and the decision is made to forego the trip,is his fate sealed? Is he on GC's "not invited to camp list"?

NO completely voluntary...no punishment. its more team bonding and holding hands ;D

My cousin is set to be ordained as a priest in the next few months, and according to my aunt, the only thing more expensive that putting a kid through college is putting a kid through the seminary.  Apparently, chalices are quite expensive.

My seminary classmates and I always joked, a Master of Divinity degree was the only masters you went into debt for, so that you could make less money once you graduated. :)

BDB it appears that your Blue Devils are on an off week Saturday September 26- are you making the trek back to central Minnesota? Veek & Johnnie Red firing up the grills.

I'm sure Chicago Tommie will be making his first trip to God's Country. You two can compare the size of your wad of bills wound up with a rubber band.

TDT will make an appearance and perhaps Ritz72 will come out of retirement. It'll be fun!

Think about it.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

JOHNNIE FOOTBALL, A GIFT FOR ALL IN COLLEGEVILLE

By Johnnie Red

Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, today is a gift,
that's why it's called the present!

2014 and a conference title for the Johnnies and Coach Fasching,
history for the Johnnie head coach, first time in this position.

213 players practicing at Clemens Stadium this season,
anticipating the Johnnies will again lead in attendance for a reason.

While the 2015 season may be a mystery, most Johnnies anticipate a gift;
after the conclusion of the Ole game on Nov. 14, all other teams adrift.

Present that day in Collegeville will be the MIAC conference title,
Sam Sura as the MIAC Most Valuable Player again, recognized like the Johnnie Bible.

For Homecoming on Oct. 17 when the Johnnies host the Gusties,
the 1965 national champions will be honored, 50 years of must.

As a Johnnie football player, expectation is a must win the championship,
continue the tradition of John Gagliardi and help Gary Fasching make the trip.

A trip to the NCAA playoffs, going through the region and on to Salem,
always a mystery to get to the Stagg Bowl, Johnnie fans always appreciate them.

Them being the Johnnie players, coaches and administrative team,
a tradition unrivaled, every year in Collegeville is a gift and always a dream.

A tradition unrivaled, the winningest football program in NCAA D3 history,
Johnnie football, a gift to all involved, a 2015 MIAC title should be no mystery.

Just watched the knights scrimmage UW-River Falls. Excited to see that there are indeed a fair amount of freshmen playing, especially on defense, but sometimes they got a bit sloppy. Also, the speedster Chris Madden seemed to take all the snaps at slot instead of running back. Anyway, when the first team came out and the 2nd strings went in the score would've been 7-0 in favor of RF. Good thing it's just a scrimmage and they still have time to workout their kinks before they beat Mac.

I think most of the MIAC fans will be Carleton Knight fans that day.
