Coach Horan sitting at 99 wins for his career.

This game is all anyone is talking about in Fargo this weekend.
Obviously they haven't tuned in to KOOL TV on Tuesday nights at 7:00PM for the SJU Football Show featuring Head Coach Gary Fasching.   ::)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Do I sense an air of confidence about the Sundog's chances?

Tickets on stub hub right now are at $500. Season ticket holders could make a pretty penny on this one.

It is with great sadness that I inform you Janesville Flash, aka Old Pa, aka Tom Mabry passed away last night.  He had been diagnosed with cancer in March.

Tom was a great guy, his humor will be greatly missed.

Thanks for the news, even though it's sad.  Tom was a great guy.  May he rest in peace!

Oof. Thanks for the heads up ROR. I know I'm a Tommie but the D3 community is a small, tight-nit bunch, perhaps a moment of silence and a toast should be in order at next weekend's Stiftungfestivities.

I met Tom at a SJU @ UW-River Falls game. Great guy with a great sense of humor. Always added a lot of fun to this board. I remember him saying he was having trouble with his eyes and had to stay off the computer for awhile.

Tom's last post almost exactly 2 years ago:

I will be back next week to get this conversation on the right track.

RIP.

I first met Tom at UW-Whitewater the first play-off contest between SJU and UWW.  I believe he told me to look for a fat old guy that looked like Santa drinking beer from the trunk of a Cadillac.  His description was spot-on!  ;D  After that, he mailed me a very nice Warhawk football cap.

Maybe you could share an obituary if one is available online?

I will when it becomes available.

DuffMan, I knew you would mention the fat Santa with the beer in the Cadillac.  I believe we we walked over together to find Tom.  It was very easy in a fairly large parking lot.

RIP Tom.

Drinking Groovy Beer out of the trunk of his Cadillac is definitely a memory of Tom.

Dang.  Flash was a nice guy with a great personality. I remember his ambition to buy a motorised bar stool, making trips to the bar easier.  I'm sad that he's gone. RIP.

This brings a smile to my face.

I don't know why the conversation comes back to me, but I'm pretty sure the whole bar stool thread started after a guy was busted driving his lawnmower home from the bar and he was plastered.  Flash reckoned a motorized bar stool was a btter idea.  More efficient.

I think it was just a little north of St Cloud where that happened.

Never met Flash, but he seemed like a friend. Had a number of "conversations" with him on the board. Will miss his humor - as we have for two years already.

I know I said I wasn't going to mention the Hawks but what can I say?  I'm a weak man. And #'s 1 & 3 are going to the game with me tonight at the MCG so I'm a little excited. 80,000 are expected for the semi-final between Hawthorn and Adelaide. The winner of this travels to Perth next weekend to play Fremantle in a preliminary final.  (Fremantle was the club that donated six or so junior players on an exchange program to SJU's national collegiate Aussie Rules championship team a couple years ago).  The winner of that lines up in the Grand Final at the MCG.

EDIT: And the Hawks are on their way to Perth. The Adelaide was demolished.
