What I'm thinking tonight is that I wish I could enjoy one more adult beverage from the trunk of OldPa, aka the Janesville Flash.  Hoping he got that motorized bar stool in heaven.

Will TOP be the deciding factor on Saturday?  The Johnnies have not been able to get the Cobbers O off the field the last 3 years?  Are the Johnnies defenders improved and can the offense maintain drives?  The odds tell us that the senior class at SJU will not go 0-4 against CC.  Jaysus those f-c-ers have domintated the ball control game the last 3 years.  If the Johnnies D can turn the table I believe that's a good sign for the remainder of the season.  If not we might be f-c-ed

Good point.  I was all excited that our O was scoring more and forgot to look the other way regarding this weekend's contest.  But then maybe with the O doing more O things the D won't have to work so hard as they won't be sent unto the breach as frequently.

Quick break from this weekend's games, has anyone else heard ESPN might be sending a crew to Collegeville the monring of the Tommie game?  I know this has been a rumor for quite some time, but as they say in the intel business, I'm hearing more chatter on this recently.

I've heard it, but I would be more than amazed if there were truth behind it.

IMO TOP is sometimes a misleading game indicator.  In each of the last three losses the TOP discrepancy has been worse than the score.  With Sura and Clark the Johnnies have a couple of big playmakers that can help make the offense run quickly.  CC has more of a grind-it-out offense where they generally have long sustained drives that churn up yards and time.  The Johnnie offense seems even more efficient this year than last (granted the opponents thus far haven't really been a test) and they should be able to move the ball and score tomorrow.  A couple extra stops by the defense and the score could be different this year.

Oz -

With the Rugby World Cup just about to be underway, I'm curious on what the Australian interest level is?  Is rugby as a sport just overshadowed by ARF, or is it something that folks get excited about there??  Is there a rivalry with the All Blacks, or is there a general enthusiasm about them given the proximity?

Looking forward to watching the SJU - CORD game tomorrow...hopefully Stretch is up to the task!

A healthy Nick Martin will go a long way in determining SJU TOP. If he plays like he is capable, running the option & play action passing I feel good about the Johnnies' chances. There are a lot of weapons in SJU version 2015 and long sustained drives that end in a TD is what SJU needs to come out with a victory on Saturday. Keep the D off the field and the Cobber D chasing and back on their heels is what the SJU Offensive brain-trust will have in mind. Executing the plan is what the players need to do.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Looks like the Cobbs us "Ustream", but yes, I hope it's up to the task.  A drive to F-M is not appealing to me.

Ustream is usually very reliable. Only problems I can recall having is during stormy weather, which shouldn't be a problem on Saturday.

I recall watching most of that game, and that Griffin Neal had an extremely effective day...he really had the offense going efficiently, and was doing a lot himself.

You've got a little tmerton style going there with ARF.

Oz is mad for sports in general and every event is followed widely, but different sports have different fan bases.  Rugby is the primary in east  (Sydney) and North (Brisbane) while ARF is more popular in the south and west and remote places.

I think this RWC is over before it starts.  The All Blacks have been very strong this year.  Australia won't be able to beat them.

I think we all felt that if Nick Martin had been healthy enough to play the outcome would have been different.

I'm feeling as good as I ever can when the Cobbers are the opponent.  Neal is gone and Martin is healthy.
