A reminder to everyone to set up your machine to record College Game Day next weekend. I just set mine (11pm Saturday night). I'll have a sleep deprived weekend, methinks.

Just a caution. The feature on SJU is reported to be in the 6-8am(CDT) time slot according to the Press Release. I have set my DVR for that slot, and it is not listed as "College Game Day" which is later in the morning.  They may replay the segment then as well, but, be aware. If I'm wrong, I'm sure I will be corrected.

That's a bummer, man.  College Game Day is live at 11pm, which is 8am Saturday morning in Collegeville.  There is a Boise State v Virginia replay on before that.  Hopefully the SJU feature is posted on gojohnnies.com.  And maybe CGD will still have some SJU feature shots.  Hopefully it does.  I'm telling all my friends here to have a look and see the alma mater.
Yeah, based on other sportscenters on the road, it's not going to be even 45 minutes of stories about SJU in the 2 hours.  You're better off showing them the YouTube after the fact, than attempting to watch it live as depending on when they tune in it might just be a bunch of MLB highlights.

A blind guy walks into a bar and sits down, after a while he starts chatting to the bartender and he says, "Hey, I've got the funniest joke about Tommies."

The bartender says, "I'll stop you there mate, obviously you can't see, but I'm a semi-pro kicker boxer, just doing bar work until I get a few more wins under my belt.  The bloke sitting next to you, he's a mate of mine from kick boxing.  And the two bouncers by the door, who are in earshot, are both powerlifters and karate black belts. Now all four of us are Tommies. With that in mind do you really want to tell your joke?"

The blind guy thinks about it for a second and says, "No way.  Not if I'm going to have to explain it four times."

Is anyone planning on going to the Sportscenter broadcast?  Were I a single guy, I might go, but I know the Mrs. and the kids would like to go to the game, so I plan on rolling in later in the morning.  I need to formulate a parking plan...

I went to Gameday in Fargo last year. Neat for about 30 seconds, but if you don't get there early enough to get within 10 feet of the stage you won't hear anything. You'll be like "Cool, there's ESPN...well, okay then."

Loving all the jokes on here!

First half was tight at Augsburg. Knights actually managed to have the lead at halftime. Unfortunately, second half was like night and day. Augsburg has some real good weapons. Sonnenfeld had a scary moment where it looked like he might have really hurt his arm, but he returned back to game and I'm sure all of Auggie-land breathed a deep sigh of relief. Anyway, some positives for the Knights and maybe they'll be able to knock off a team they're not supposed to.
The first half was close, too close for me. The botched field goal turned in to a td just before half was frustrating to watch but hats off to the Carleton kid that got open and caught the ball. I hope Carleton wins several MIAC games the rest of the way. Next up for AUG is GAC.

I saw a few first-half updates, and I did a double-take when I saw the final score!

It's not ESPN "Gameday" that's setting up in Collegeville Saturday morning, it's ESPN "SportsCenter on the Road".  They'll basically set-up a studio on campus and do the early morning broadcast from there.  The content of the show will not solely be on the Tommie/Johnnie game, most will be an update on Friday sports results and key college match-ups for that day.  There will also be a segment on the SJU/UST rivalry and each school.  I'm planning on going up as it should be unique and fun, and will help me get a parking spot before the traffic hits.

The Trey Anderson era has officially begun at Bethel. Nice to have him get his first start against Olaf. About as much of an easy adjustment to college ball as you can get.

He's got a ton of potential and if not for that ACL injury before the start of his Sr. year, I doubt BU would have him now. He's got some really nice offensive weapons around him, but this year is going to come down to the OLine gelling and getting experience. They struggled against Wartburg and I'm not sure if that's a horses thing or a time in the trenches thing. Whatever it was from, it'll be tough sledding for any true frosh QB if the line isn't doing a solid job. Here's to hoping that group continues to improve as the season goes on, I think there's potential there. How they performed against St. Olaf doesn't really tell us anything about how they'll do against the rest of the league (and given the Knights performance, there's no week left this year that won't be a stiff test).

On another note, St. Olaf is really hurting for numbers. And they have the most one dimensional offense I've seen in a long time. Their RB McCormick seems to be the only playmaker they have. At one point late in the game they were averaging something like 3 yds per completion, if memory serves.

Yes, a bit of a better situation than mid-game against an aggressive Wartburg defense.  Hopefully the line can continue to gel against Carleton, and we can feel a bit more positive against the Cobbers, although the Knights certainly put up more of a fight than expected against the Auggies.

The Wartburg result against Stout was closer than I expected...not sure what to make of that.  Wartburg vs. Central this weekend should be a good one.

I think Stout is a bit better than we thought and Wartburg isn't as dominant as they were last year. They might still run the table in the IIAC, they still have a very good QB and good offensive skill players. But their O/D fronts aren't as dominant as they were last year, IMO. That's not saying the lines are bad, but recognizing they were exceptional last year.

The Stout defense is it's Achilles heal. Offensively they are getting stronger each week, starting to finish drives. The last 2 minutes of the first half determined the game with Wartburg scoring 2 touchdowns and taking a 16 point lead into the half, ending up winning by 8.

I'm guessing the "getting within 10 feet of the stage" part will be much easier at 6 am in Collegeville than in Downtown Fargo among thousands of crazy Bison fans.
