Boys of Fall

What are people thinking about the Hamline/SJU game?  I was hoping to attend, but I think family obligations are going to overrule. :(
It may be good for the Johnnies to get back on the field after the loss before their bye week.  A win should get some of their confidence back before getting into the GAC/AUG/BU part of their schedule.

Although Hamline has made great strides since a few years ago I'm not sure they're ready to move to the upper half of the conference yet.  On the flip side, regardless if it was misalignment or missed assignments by the Johnnie defense in the second half last Saturday I suspect film will show them what they need to fix.

In my opinion, this johnnies/pipers game will be closer than expected.  Hamline has improved from their days with an inept, Sasquatch-hunting coach and even from the past two years of the Austin Duncan Show.  He had a pretty pedestrian game against Mac (80 yards rushing or so), but the passing game was much more efficient than before.  They've diversified their offense which has paid huge dividends.  The pipers have gustavus a close game, and coming off of the bye week hamline will be refreshed and prepared for a home game against the johnnies (lest we forget the near-disaster that occurred last time the johnnies came to klas field).  I think all of that will make for a close game, but ultimately I don't expect hamline to win.  35-21 johnnies is my prediction

Good to see you guys have your confidence back and are boldly predicting monkey stomps over the pipers  ;)

Ughhh...sad situation out Oregon.  How does this stuff keep happening?  :-\

Even though she's 16.5 years away from college, having a kid makes it all the more stomach turning...

Brutal. I've got a buddy who's a HS baseball coach in Roseburg. So sad

I have to admit that following the posts today I was thinking, "do they really think Hamline can stay within a monkey stomping of the Johnnies?"   That just doesn't seem too likely.

I've been pretty heads down all day.  Just learned of the shootings in Oregon.  My kids are out of college but my stomach is turning.

This is at least the 142nd school shooting since the tragedy at Sandy Hook and the 45th school shooting in 2015.  We don't have to live this way.  Madness.

True.  I can't help but wonder what concerns have risen above caring for your fellow man that makes decisions like this possible. Or how caring has fallen so low, maybe.

It appears to me as if naked, self-centered interest is increasingly viewed as valid justification for previously desperate acts.  But I don't really know what is the problem.
