Saw this in the news today - just passing it along: http://www.kare11.com/story/news/health/tackle-cancer/2015/10/01/st-olaf-tackle-cancer-breast/73159322/
As a 16 year survivor of colon cancer and having a niece who is a 10 year survivor of breast cancer, ol 57 has a particular understanding of this. The whole family has to work through it but it can be beaten.
I still have to have a colonoscopy on a regular basis. My last one was last Tuesday. The doctor gave me a clean bill of health although he was mystified by the presence of a lot of purple smoke.  ;D

Congratulations on the maintenance report, 57.

Just under two hours until the opening bounce of the Grand Final. This year's game features the top two teams, West Coast Eagles and Hawthorn Hawks.  The teams have split their two meetings this year, both played over in Perth on West Coast's home ground.

My nerves are starting to build. This should be a brutally contested and fast first quarter. The coach of West Coast is in his second year after four years as a disciple of the Hawthorn head coach.  The teams play almost the same game and they both play it well. The game should be very fast and very hard at the contested ball.

Go Hawks!

As much as I enjoy football it's getting more difficult for me be a spectator.  We had a kid carted off tonight with a compound fracture that was protruding the skin and bleeding.  Football can be a great sport but sometimes I don't know if it's worth the toll on the bodies of those that play.  Ugh!!!

Huuuuuge first quarter.  Hard and fast just like it promised.  The Hawks have been a little harder in midfield, getting better delivery to the forward line, and a lot better in the clutch while shooting for goal. Hawks lead 5.0.30 (five goals, no behinds, 30 points) to the Eagles' 1.5.11.

Hawks are just dominating... still plenty of time for a comeback for the Eagles but hard to see it happening against Hawthorn

Hard second quarter by the Hawks. They turned up the pressure and West Coast felt the heat and are panicking under the pressure, particularly in front of goal. Every contest is brutal. It's a heck of a spectacle if you're a Hawks supporter, not so fun if you're behind the Eagles.

Hawks lead by 31, 9.3.57 to 3.8.26.

The Championship Quarter is coming up. The Eagles can fight back into this contest or the Hawks can turn the dial up to 11 and close the game out with a quarter to play. It ain't over yet, Griz.

It's not bad, I must admit. Particularly since all the players are drunk.

I know 31 even at 3/4 time isn't secure... but it's hard to see Hawthorn giving that kind of lead up. Most of the first half looked like there were a couple extra Hawks out there and the Eagles were half asleep. West Coast's only hope may be for the heat to get to the Hawks by the 4th

That's the end of three quarters and it was heated. West Coast came out throwing everything they could at the Hawks and the Hawks felt it, bent but didn't break and then they threw the pressure back with interest. The Hawks lead by 50 point at the final break, 14.5.89 to West Coast's 5.9.39.

One quarter to go in 89 degree heat. It's going to be a tough 30 minutes to finish. But it looks like Hawthorn are on there way to a third consecutive championship.
