I think it's about time to call it. Eagles with the brief sign of life before Hawks retook control. 50 points headed to the 4th... not happening against Hawthorn. Lions did have that 52 point comeback starting late in the 3rd on the Cats a couple years ago but just not seeing the fight from the Eagles to do that today. Not going to break the 119 point margin record, but could very well top last years 63

Hawthorn have run out 46 point victors, 107-61. A three-peat and their fourth championship in the last eight years.  They gave West Coast a lesson today. I think the Eagles will be back. They are a young side with a lot of talent.

Norm Smith Medalist (MVP) to come.

They're a happy team at Hawthorn, they're the mighty fighting Hawks. 6th team to win 3 straight 107-61... and wasn't even that close as the Eagles scoried a few late goals.
Who gets the medal? Cyril?

I reckon Sam Mitchell. The Hawks won this in the midfield and he was everywhere, touching everything in the middle of the ground.

And Griz wins the chocolates!  Cyril it is!  He had a fantastic game, that's for sure.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program!

Go Johnnies!

I still have to have a colonoscopy on a regular basis. My last one was last Tuesday. The doctor gave me a clean bill of health although he was mystified by the presence of a lot of purple smoke.  ;D

LOL 57! And +k, cancer survivors rock!  8-)

Monkey StompTM for the Johnnies.  Mark that down.
Final score SJU 41 HU 21. HU blocked the PAT on SJU's 2nd TD. This is why Duffman has always hated kickers. ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

After today I'm not feeling confident that this SJU team is strong enough to run the table and win out the rest of the season.

It will be tough, no doubt, but I think they can.  Sura is a monster.  Bungham and the TE are special.  It was a big challenge to beat CON and the Johnnies made it. They had an off game against the bottom of the table. It happens.  I think they'll rise when need.

Glad to see the Johnnies bring home the win without me! ;) As I mentioned before, I was volunteering at an endurance trail run (20k, 20 mile and 50k distances) I survived pit potties and the middle of nowhere! At one point I had to drive supplies to the far aid station which involved over 2000 ft in elevation gain and a section that included 14 miles round trip on a single track washboard gravel road with a sheer drop off literally less than six inches off the edge of the road. It was fun and the runners were great.

UST looks unstoppable... they started rolling the bench in the first quarter. The 4th string quarterback looks good!

Are the Gusties legit or is the belief that they will start 6-0 and end up 6-4 just like last year? How would the conference teams be ranked today? St Thomas, C-M or St Johns, Bethel, GA.

Is the order we have some evidence for right now. I think UST is heads and shoulders above the rest right now. And I thin the rest are going to start bloodying each other now.

The GAC season winds up like this
Oct. 17 at SJU
Oct. 24 - BYE Week
Oct. 31 at Bethel
Nov. 7 hosting Cobbers
Nov. 14 hosting St. Thomas

As you mentioned, their scheduled is front loaded with weaker opponents in the conference and all their tough games are at the end of the season. You can look at it two ways,if they are for real this battle tests them for the play-offs. If they are a paper tiger, they will be 6-4 or perhaps 7-3 which is a sign they are on the right path (7-3 final record) of being considered a top tier team in the MIAC.
Wonka, you know as well as anyone that there are 2 or 3 teams in the MIAC who are consistently at or near the top over the past 25 years. Then there are teams that make a splash for a 2-4 year period with the right set of players at the right time, then fade back after those players graduate. Time will tell where GAC stacks up for the long term.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!
