Of course this applies to SJU & Saint Gags vs. Hamline but not UST & GC vs. Carleton. Of course::) It's not like UST's 3-deep RB ran for 110 yards and 2 TDs behind the OL's 3s & 4s on nine touches.

I look at it a little differently when the lopsided score involves numerous trick/gadget plays.  Obviously, you don't see it that way, but not surprisingly, many people share this viewpoint, and when even staunch Tommie backers are admitting that it was maybe just a bit out of line, you viewpoint may be in a minority.  ::)

Yeah, it was the three two point conversions which made all the difference in the final score, not the 11 TDs Carleton couldn't stop... It takes a particularly dark shade of red-colored glasses to exclaim Saint Gags couldn't have possibly put a lower number on the board against Hamline but obviously there so many things UST could have done differently. So many wasted opportunities to control tempo and grind the clock on that 1 play 55 yard TD...  ::)

Come on, it is like SJU Football was trying to start an issue: https://twitter.com/johnniefootball/status/663102192132337664.

I have no issue with people debating the use of trick plays, that's fair game. The only issue I have is how personal people have gone after Coach Caruso. I mean, there are several people on twitter (mainly SJU supporters) who are acting like children. Show some respect, the man does have a wife and children who are online and can read this crap. If you have an issue, call him, send him an email, or approach him directly, but don't cowardly tweet that you think he is satan and is the worst person on the planet. A few SJU football parents have been the worst perpetrators. One parent even tweeted to Tommie Media's Jesse Krull about Caruso, he's a student! Grow up.

The floor is open for Augsburg-Bethel talk as well as Carleton-Hamline talk. Anyone....anyone.......

Not intended as a shot at Augsburg, but what's their shot at winning more than a game or two next year?  The only wins they've had this year have been high scoring affairs, which are made possible with Scott running the offense.

Do they have someone promising to take the reins?

TT, jealousy is the most sincere form of flattery. All of the Caruso criticism, that's all this is. If the John game outcome had been reversed, this all would be a non-issue. Obviously the wounds are still fresh from the beat down that was issued up there earlier this season-enjoy it, I certainly am. It's just all a part of what makes pounding them so sweet.

Fair enough. Instead of SJU Football, I should have said SJU fans/supporters.

It does look like a big rebuilding year next year and one or two wins is not out of the question, I agree. However I had the same feeling when Marcus Brumm graduated and then Scott landed at Augsburg that summer. So I am not sure next year's starting QB is on the roster right now.

I'm a novice when it comes to twitter.  How do I find these offensive tweets?

The tweet by @johnniefootball was pretty innocuous.  It came after ST was up 58-3.  I would think most viewing that would question the move up 55 and the direction of the game quite clear.

I can send you a private message with the tweets when I get off work. I was trying to avoid posting tweets with people's names.

I would like to see them.  I don't doubt you, as we've all seen our share of over-zealous sports parents, so I'd like to see what's been said.

I second that.

Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

WOW!!! This isn't pee wee football! Only one team wins. This is a sport where one teams objective  is to destroy the other team, physically and mentally.  Carleton could of ran some trick plays if they wanted to they could tried anything on the Tommie's to win. So UST had a little fun with some trick plays, in which they had game time experience to try them out. The game had to be fun for the Tommie's, I know it was!  Carleton on the other had should be at a cross road,  if I were them this would be the wake-up call... that maybe the program needs... I would take that loss personally! I would try to change the program and figure a way to compete with other teams in MIAC at a higher level. We all have been in blow outs, on the winning side and the losing side... I learned more from the losing side and by losing first you learn to win...

Michael Jordan/Quote

I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.
Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.
I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying.
Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.
You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.
My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength.
Always turn a negative situation into a positive situation.
I've always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come.
I play to win, whether during practice or a real game. And I will not let anything get in the way of me and my competitive enthusiasm to win.
Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.
