It's interesting how different programs approach the play-off selection show. UST had a viewing party, but they knew they were in, Whitworth had a viewing party (they posted link on Twitter) but they were on the bubble. On the radio post game show last Saturday the play by play guy, VOJ, from WBHR asked Gary Fasching if they team was going to have a viewing party? Gary's response: "No, it's out of our hands now". I'm sure there were groups of players who gathered in dorm room together, but it's kind of interesting to see approach different "at large" teams took to the selection process.

Was he wearing sunglasses at the time? Probably. Such a hotshot. What kind of monster doesn't have a viewing party? Typical Hollywood Fasching, too good for his players IMO.

Well, aren't you a buzzkill. Go Whitworth!

RFB,

Looks like you guys need to go hire Mike Vick to come coach at Redlands to help toughen up your Dawgs.

It's borderline fascist. Who is Fasching to deny those Johnies the excitement of a selection party. They have so little to look forward to as it is...  ;-)

If Linfield and UST are comparable talent-wise, which, it appears they are, and Whitworth beat up on La Verne, and Linfield beat up on Whitworth by 42 points (not sure how many monkey stomps that is, 2?) I would say Rev may want to reserve Round 2 for his kitchen pass. Especially since it will be barely 30 by kickoff on Saturday.

I'm waiting for the Gary Fasching SJU Coach's Show on KOOL-TV (From Alexandria,MN- not from Virginia or Egypt, the real deal) to see if host Mark Anthony, who doubles as a staff meteorologist for KOOL-TV, asks Gary why they are playing Dubuque again this year........ ::)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Well,  big Johnnie culture point is to act like you've been there before. That you belong there. Keep working hard Tommies. One day you may convince yourselves that you belong as well.  ;)

So part of Johnnie culture is to act likely you're naturally better than most others. Isn't that pretty much the textbook definition of hubris?

Too many damn kids enjoying being part of a football team these days IMO. I'm glad schools like SJU still do things the right way. Football is not supposed to be fun.

You're overlooking the fact that they're a bunch of tender little snowflakes up at SJU. Parties lead to heightened expectations. When those expectations go unmet, the administration will have to deal with students calling for more emotionally safe spaces on campus.

Hollywood Fasching might be the right name...too busy shooting commercials I guess, but no sunglasses here.
What the hell is this anyway?  Maybe a project for a marketing class?
And I didn't think there was any contact in practices?  Maybe only when some guy has the Doritos?

NCAA VIOLATION!

I'm whistleblowing. SJU should be banned from postseason play IMO.

Then they whistle-blew on themselves...if indeed there is some kind of infraction, as the video is posted on the official Saint John's University Athletics Facebook page.

Maybe they're trying to win the Super Bowl Doritos commercial contest. Didn't they have a fan commercials contest last year where the winner got played at the super bowl?
