Just a quick question.  Been busy and barely able to keep up the last couple weeks, but how was the game determined to be at UST instead of Linfield?  Was it RR?  Also be very interested to see how UST finally does against some top level competition.  Them and MUC seemed to have had the luck of the draw with the playoff field.

WOW...was that a shot at SJU?!

Obviously, it's going to be tough sledding for the 'Cats to knock off UST but I'm looking forward to seeing how we stack up.  Go 'Cats!

Hopefully no actual sledding will be required in this game. :)
mrs_jamto saw the updated forecast and might already be backing out on me, after enlisting her mom to watch the kids already. Although looking again, this morning's forecast for next Saturday (snow) has already changed.  I'd love a good snow game - hoping that might favor a healthy enough Jordan Roberts and the St Thomas ground game.

Massey picks the Tommies 41 - 24.

What more do you boys want?  ::) You already have 1. home field,2. Massey, and now you want SNOW too :o

I will take any part of that spread .. send e-mail ;D

I think the game on Saturday will come down to class, which is a big thing in the MIAC. UST's success was correlated with its lack of class this year. If Linfield can be just a tiny bit more classless than UST, then they have a shot at going to Salem.

I was thinking something akin to the '03 vintage class would prevail.

I am not comparing the Linfield passing game with St John's since I haven't seen Linfield. But, the Johnnies passing game was quite good during the second half of the season, until they played UST. The pressure ( and late, unnecessary hits :-*) took care of that part of their game however. It will be interesting to see if the Tommies can duplicate that effort.

Just a cautionary note to our Wildcat friends - the Tommies sometimes play after the whistle.

Find the video of the hit on your quarterback and post it here. It's 2015. Nothing goes unrecorded. With the video you should be able to objectively determine if the hit was after the whistle.  Short of the video, anything else is just rumor and hearsay. If hits after the whistle ain't classy, then neither are rumors after the whistle.

I'm alive you little peasants.  A few guys sent out the bat signal so I just read the last few pages.

A real amateur hour production (or lack there of) on the video from UST last weekend.

Good luck to my pals from Linfield.  Dennis from LA, Gig Harbor Cat, Joe Smith's dad, and my main man WC11.

What kind of injury does Riddle have?  Possibly play on Saturday or will this be a game of poker?  Are the 2 Cat QBs interchangeable?

I'm eagerly awaiting for Glen to try a fake punt/FG or go for 2 in a big game and it coming back to haunt UST.  We all know it's coming you can only afford to play that reckless again teams significantly worse than you.  Real brave when you're crushing Hamline 80-3 or some other miac patsy.

I see you BlueDevil Bob.  Hope you're well.  The Pres wishes you and yours Happy Holidays.

TDT you filthy mutt! Good to see you on the board.

Quarterfinals against Wabash: punt return TD, punt block, fake FG TD, fumble recovery on punt, onside kick recovery. That's against the #7 ranked team in the country, not Carleton or Hamline. Just good special teams FOOTBAW.

But if you ask Retagent, Wabash was certainly not as good as SJU.

I would say they were even.

Massey, unfortunately, rates UST as the #1 DIII program.  MUC is #2.

So what makes that 'unfortunate'? Is that just you taking a shot at UST or is there some underlying logic to it?

It's funny you mention the '03 SJU team. I was watching some highlights from that championship game over the weekend and it struck me how much bigger/stronger/more aggressive the '15 Tommies are compared to vintage SJU and MU. Of course size/strength/aggression isn't everything, but comparatively speaking UST is churning out beasts. Must be something to do with the cherrywood locker rooms...

Yeah most tough guys I know are partial to cherrywood.

Did I miss something?  Is there an SJU/UST rematch this week?

How are the Tommies going to slow down the aerial assault of Linfield?  I don't think they'll be able to run against the Tommies but that didn't hurt them against a very good UMHB defense.

What's the word out of McMinnville on Riddle's health?

I saw that on NW board.  I'm just not sure how much I trust Bluenote. ;)

Congratulations to Sam Sura being named a finalist for the Gagliardi award.

The other three finalists are:

Wesley (Del.) senior quarterback Joe Callahan
Guilford (N.C.) senior quarterback Matt Pawlowski
St. Thomas senior offensive tackle David Simmet

I think Simmet only got in because his dad is a Johnnie.   ;)  Just kidding.  From what I've seen, read and heard he's a good kid and well deserving.
