It's been unusually warm this fall/early winter.  ;D

Congratulations to Sam Sura being named a finalist for the Gagliardi award.

The other three finalists are:

Wesley (Del.) senior quarterback Joe Callahan
Guilford (N.C.) senior quarterback Matt Pawlowski
St. Thomas senior offensive tackle David Simmet

I think Simmet only got in because his dad is a Johnnie.   ;)  Just kidding.  From what I've seen, read and heard he's a good kid and well deserving.

A nice article about him in the Strib this week:

You might even say he's a kid with class. Just like a true Tommie ought to be.  ;)

Must be due to his father's alma mater.

D O.C.

Riddle was suited up and napping in the Panic Room last Saturday.
No need to wake him.

The Riddle injury is nothing but a massive set-up for a trick play that will blow St. Glenn's mind.

That Simmet ended up at St. Thomas was not a given. He was asked to be a recruited walk-on at Wisconsin, talked with the Minnesota staff and was pursued by countless Division II programs.

Simmet said he was thinking of Division III the entire time because of the chance offered to focus on academics, as well as play both football and basketball. Simmet chose St. Thomas over St. John's, breaking a family tradition, because "it felt right."

Since WC11 brought up Prophet, I had to check when his last post was.  ;D
For the record, he was wrong, so perhaps he relinquished his status as a prophet.  ???

Shame on anyone predicting more than 30 points against the Johnnies defense.

Mr.MIAC

Reusse put out a nice little article on UST over the weekend. I wonder if recruits/parents notice these things.

I wonder if Blake Elliott still has that restraining order against him?
