What's the word out of McMinnville on Riddle's health?

Sam's leg is better, but he passed out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Mr.MIAC

It looks like voters on the main page are projecting a UST win this weekend.

I wouldn't count your chickens. It's only been up for about 20 minutes and only 45 votes so far.

Good job keeping us in check...don't want to get too cocky and jinx it.

If anything, now you've brought Linfield fans' attention to it. :)

The Linfield fans are too busy blowing kisses at the Johnnies to notice such things...

Reusse put out a nice little article on UST over the weekend. I wonder if recruits/parents notice these things.

http://www.startribune.com/facilities-at-st-thomas-alone-enough-to-attract-recruits/360641711/

I thought this was the best line of the article....

Now that Glenn Caruso has added football to the St. Thomas list of national contenders, any accolades aimed toward the Tommies in print are generally followed with derogatory e-mails — complaining that the large, vibrant school should elevate itself to Division II, a scholarship level of athletics.
It's a good guess the same complaint is heard in Ohio, only more vociferously, toward Mount Union. The Purple Raiders football team has lost nine games since 2000: a conference game to Ohio Northern in 2005, to St. John's in the 2003 national title game, to Mary Hardin-Baylor in the 2004 D-III semifinals, and six times to Wisconsin-Whitewater as those programs have traded off the past 10 national titles.
The last shall be first and the shall be.......

Bluenote saw Riddle dancing the Watusi at the Blue Moon on Saturday night.

I saw him there also....Tommie Gun was there too...throwing marbles out on the dance floor !

Riddle was just spotted filling sandbags to help prevent additional flooding of Johnson Creek on the SE side of Portland. Who wasn't there? Coach Caruso.  ;)

Is there a correlation between enrollment and athletic success in the MIAC?
I realize that many other factors go into success on the field or on the court.  The size of the institution isn't the only factor that contributes to success but I think it's naive to discount it.

All-Sports Competition (Let's just say that UST has dominated for about the past 35 years, winning or sharing the title 27 times).

Mr. Ypsi

Re: moving 'up' in divisions - most outside commentators (don't know about Reusse) are unaware that (aside from a few schools that got 'grandfathered'), a move in division is for ALL sports at a school.  Apparently UST is quite good pretty much across the board, and probably could successfully change divisions if they so desired.  The same would be true for UWW, except that they have little local control in such matters, and would probably not be allowed to by the state powers-that-be.  UMU would NOT be a good candidate, since many of their sports are barely average even in D3.
