Please.
The WILDCATS are so tough they'll be pulling their own motel alarms at 3:00 am.

Theories please on why STU has such a ****** video feed.
Theories on if it will be fixed for a National Semi-Final game.

Logic dictates if a school does not have the savvy and facilities to host a playoff game they should not have one if the rest of the world can't see it in 1015.

I don't think they'll be sending video 1,000 years into the past when ESPN3 broadcasts the semifinals.

A few things by way of into to what I'm about to post:
1) I am not in the "Find Caruso a new job" camp. The Johnnie-Tommie Rivalry is at its best when both teams are good, and, as much as it pains me to say it, Caruso has made UST very good.
2) I am simply reporting things as I hear them from my post in Sioux Falls, S.D., and this is about as worth talking about as anything.
------------------------------------------

As some of you may know, University of South Dakota head football coach Joe Glenn retired a few weeks ago and the Coyotes athletic department has begun looking for a replacement.  Caruso's name was one of the first to pop up (along with Kalen DeBoer, OC at E. Michigan, and Bob Neilson, HC at Western Illinois).

Here are the rumors coming from the USD campus:
USD Athletic Director David Herbster flew to Minneapolis to conduct an interview with an unnamed coach.
Sometime after that visit it was established that "the new coach has been identified and they are waiting on him to finish his team's playoffs."

I'm not sure if he would take the job, but there are certainly a bunch of people in Vermillion, S.D. that want Caruso--badly. They liked what they saw very briefly just over a decade ago when Caruso was the OC at USD and really like what they've seen since.

Man you guys are really doubling down today, calling for UST to move out of the MIAC and then starting a Caruso exit rumor. Maybe you should go for the trifecta by detailing UST's plans for taking out Linfield's QB this Saturday.

I suspect Caruso called on his college archrival, Cortland State, to do so two weeks ago. Thinking ahead!

...and he probably sold Cortland State a few used cars while he had them on the line!

So there.

For the record, this video feed for Linfield has been pretty awful too, choppy like woaaaah and I've had to restart it 10 times or so. So I guess we'll just go ahead and host next Saturday and leave the video to ESPN.

I think you might be full of sh*te!

If Caruso didn't want the UND job he won't want the USD job. Kalen DeBoer from USF was a finalist for the UND job and is probably a fine choice for USD. Rumor has it the WIU coach is also throwing his hat in the ring.

Yeah, I've been hearing the same thing about Neilson at WIU. Sounds like people think he has hit a glass ceiling as far as institutional support.  Folks on campus at USD think he might be looking for a place to retire from.

DeBoer is another one hot on the tongues of Yotes fans, especially he's 1) young and 2) familiar with the area from his time at USF and could hit the ground running.

OK OK...I misplaced the info that ESPN will handle the game.

I will smite myself if possible, thank-you.

So then those of us who do not have ESPN will be listening on the radio like last weeks STU game.  8-)

It's ESPN3 online only, depending on your internet provider you might get it without having to actually subscribe to ESPN the television channel.

I don't see that happening unless there is an off shore bank account associated with the job. It is Vermilion South Dakota after all......
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Joe Glenn's ending salary was $126,000. The family isn't moving to Vermillion for a minimal raise, especially now that the kids are in school and sports locally. If they were dropping $200k + into this USD job i could see it potentially overcoming the Vermillion factor.

interesting--I've had no problem with the Linfield feed here in California but the St. Thomas feed has been just awful (clear as day picture but it just stutters and stops every few seconds) for the last few weeks....

According to the State Public Employee salary database Joe Glenn's salary was $145,000. http://bfm.sd.gov/ledger/employee.asp (search: Glenn, Joseph) Not that it makes a ton of difference.

I still agree it will take somewhere in the neighborhood of $200k plus a large institutional commitment to the football program from USD.
