This is going to date me but as a kid I watched Chuck Foreman throughout his career. He was a special football player and was part of an offense that was the first West Coast offense, run by Fran Tarkenton. They just never gave it a name.

Thanks for posting that story Reverend. Proof that the truth is stranger than fiction. It's crazy to think about it but now I watch Chuck Foreman's kid play football as a Tommie. Wow. For anyone too young to know of Chuck Foreman; this is roughly the equivalent of watching Adrian Peterson's kid play in the MIAC.

I've shared my thoughts on the topic many times before and will save you all from regurgitating them here. Take a look at my previous posts if you're interested in why I question how and why an entire trip essentially disappeared. AO put it best during one of the last exchanges weeks ago.

I am now having flashes of A Few Good Men. Caruso on the stand in place of Col. Nathan Jessup.

Caruso. What would you like to discuss now! My favorite color?

Q. Colonel, the six a.m. trip to Winnipeg, was the first one off the Campus?

A. Yes.

Q. There wasn't a trip that left seven hours earlier and arrived in Winnipeg at Investors Group Field at 2am.?

JUDGE. Lieutenant, I think we've covered this, haven't we?

Rube. (holding books) Your Honor, these are the Lorenz Bus Chief Logs for both St Paul and Winnipeg. The log lists no flight that left at eleven p.m., and the Winnipeg log lists no bus that arrived at 2 a.m. I'd like to admit them as Defense Exhibits "A" and "B".

JUDGE: I don't understand. You're admitting evidence of a flight that never existed?

Rube. We believe it did, sir. The Defense will be calling Airman Cecil O'Malley and Airman Anthony Perez. They were working the ground crew at Andrews at two a.m. on the seventh.

PROSECUTOR. Your Honor, these men weren't on the list.

Rube. Rebuttal witnesses, Your Honor, called specifically to reflite testimony offered under direct examination.

JUDGE. I'll allow the witnesses.

Rube) Q. Colonel, a moment ago--

A. Check the Bus Logs for christ's sake.

Rube) Q. We'll get to the airmen in just a minute, sir. A moment ago said that you ordered Kuckinski to order his men not to touch Nick Martin.

A. That's right.

Chuck Foreman doesn't date you too much OldAuggie but if you bring up Tommy Mason you might get the stink eye from a couple of the youngsters.   ::)

Anthony King-Foreman, another unknown Tommie.

Who's his daddy?

Well, I guess we can't win. If we talk too much about ourselves, we're labeled arrogant. We undersell and we're flagged for spouting BS. I'm surprised you SJU guys aren't all for UST embracing humility.

Don't try to undersell a trip to Canada or else we'll have a conspiracy on our hands.

Maybe I'm giving SJU and the rest of the MIAC (and Wabash as well) too much credit, but I'm thinking Tommies 35 - 10.

You have to remember that it's all about perspective. For the Johnnies, a trip over to St. Cloud is a cosmopolitan experience; picking up SCSU girls at the Red Carpet can be life-changing. Any trip outside the US just sounds like pure fantasy.    :)

Similar thoughts here, with a little tighter margin. UST 27-14. The Tommie defense is just too good. I'll guarantee Linfield ain't coming back to win if they spot the Tommies 21 right out of the chute.

On the other side, Mount 42-28, setting up a rematch of 2012. I'm thinking if UWW gave up 30 to UWO, Mount will get theirs.

Interesting match ups all around.

No.  And the U$T points come off of an interception return when Linfield tries the behind-the-back pass and U$T sniffs it out like they've been practicing for it all year.
