Welcome all you Tommie-come-lately's. Your team is the the one with silver helmets and the S and T shield.

Ahhhh....the tired complaint by Oz about the new Tommie posters. So predictable! For the benefit of the newcomers, some of the Johns (Oz typically leading the charge) take exception to any interruptions of the John smokefest. I say, Welcome!

Roll Toms!

Any chance we see a Dick Play...A Behind the Ass Pass tomorrow evening?  No this isn't Carleton!  Anybody with real balls would run that same crap against MU!

Can't cheer for the University that has dominated the MIAC in "all-sports" for 20-25+ years.

You all may feel proud of yourselves but understand you have a huge advantage in the game!

I admit it, UST is blest with advantages like a better university, better location, better endowment, better alumni, better students, and better athletes.

butt , YOU CAN'T BUY CLASS ... :P :-*    St tom = CLASSLESS :'(,       ST JOHNS = CLASS   8-)

Go MT U.. ;D

DC1, would this question be considered classless, How'd that a** pasting taste last week? Win or lose tonight, I take enjoyment knowing there's a bunch of John & Linfield fans that can't stomach the fact that they have to watch the Toms play in another National Championship.

Roll Toms!

No worries, OO, we'll take comfort in watching 2$T lose.  Should be entertaining to watch Caruso's antics on the big stage.

A tradition unrivaled...

I just returned from the Stagg Bowl stadium and the parking lots are filling up with Mount Union tailgaters. Not many UST fans yet. Weather is cloudy, cold and windy --- perfect for a team from Minnesota that likes to run the ball. Go Tommies!

The following is a link to "Tommie Chalk Talk", hosted by the 3 UST students. They preview the MU-UST matchup with some pretty good insights for college kids. My favorite was when they said playing Mount Union was like playing a team with the running game of St Johns, the high flying passing attack of Gustavus, and the dual threat QB of Augsburg.

So, up here in snowy GPZ my folks are on the Dish Network. Anyone know which channel is carrying the game?

Mrs Oz and I are going out for dinner so we are likely to miss part of the game, but I'd like to catch what I can.

Winds in Salem are gusting are gusting over 35 mph.
Wind is suppose to stay in the 20 mph range for the game.
MU ran for 306 yards last week against a UWW team that was only giving up 112 yards on the season.
Toms ran for 389 on Linfield team that was only giving up 102 yards a game.
If this game wasn't being played on television with commercial breaks I think it could be over in about an hour and a half....I don't think more than ten passes will be completed by both teams combined.
Kicking game will be huge.  The coin toss will be huge....if I won the flip I'd defer so I could get the wind.
Too close to pick a winner.

Nah, we are too busy preparing our "yet another Minnesota football team in purple that can't close the deal" jokes for tomorrow! ;D

Thanks, c2b.

I just turned on a replay of last night's STL v TB game. Yowser, talk about bright colours. I had heard that the NFL was using gimmicky uniforms because the Thursday night games had been duds, but I don't think they put their finger on the right problem.

These things are worse than Hawthorn's clash 'Power Rangers' jumper.

Cave2bens:  If the missus hasn't seen "Remember The Night", playing tonight on TCM after the football game, I highly recommend it.  High schmaltz content but well-written by Preston Sturges.

(You might want to watch it yourself, if for no other reason than you will NEVER see a more beautiful woman anywhere than the young Barbara Stanwyck in this movie.)

. . .and we now return you to the rest of your regularly scheduled programming.

Huh?  What's that?

Capitals/Lightning game on at the same time. Caps could pass Dallas for best record in NHL with win. Guess which game I'm watching.
