Finally home. That was a long trip.

And I do what any good MIAC PPer should do after a flight that long.  I stop at Dan Murphy's and buy a slab [case] of ice cold James Boag Premium Lager stubbies [bottles] which has bottle caps that point to this website: http://www.beerthebeautifultruth.com/

Tasty and informative. A good deal at any price.

Making a Murder (Netflix).

Anybody watch this yet?  Would love to hear some thoughts and theories.  Very sad that a 16/17 year old w/ an IQ of 60-70 was railroaded into a murder confession / conviction.

faunch. Don't be taken in by a presentation that only gives the defense argument. The jury heard all the evidence, including what you did,  but they also heard the evidence presented by the prosecution, and it was clear and convincing. Bone fragments in fire pit, never seen after she went to his place, and much more. Research the entire story.

The SEC looked real good this Bowl season, with Alabama playing for all the marbles next week. The Big 10 still has room to go to close the gap.

Arkansas O-line 328 average. NFL largest line,San Diego Chargers, average. 326. In the second half of the Liberty Bowl, you could see Kanas D-line was gassed.

Kansas State linemen need to spend some time here ------>http://tallgrasstaphouse.com <------ in the off season.

On the subject of fishing- how are the MN lakes doing in protecting and growing the Walleye fishery?  My sons and I have established an annual Canada tradition.  As we drive through MN to Int Falls or Baudette, I wonder if I'm passing by many great lakes that we could enjoy, especially in light of the fact that my family vacationed in Northern MN every year (Squaw Lake) when I was young. I understand you may not want to attract more fishing pressure- but I'm interested in the perspective of MN fisherman.

The lakes in far northern MN are not under the pressure that the closer to the Twin Cities (Mille Lacs) have been. The tribal arrangement (allowed to net) is a very hot button issue in MN and I am not going to get into here as this is not the place.

Mr.MIAC

On the subject of craft beer, here's a recommendation for your next vacation: Asheville, North Carolina. We spent the Holidays just outside of town and were pleasantly surprised by the number/quality of craft breweries in the area. The place is dubbed "Beer City USA" and more breweries are on the way. Plus, for those beer-loving Tommies who make the trip, the Biltmore Estate offers a suitable spot to park the Lambo.   :)

Anybody been ice fishing north of Mille Lacs?  Wondering about ice thickness in the Crosslake Area.

Try this Monday afternoon. They take the readings on Monday mornings. http://www.mvp-wc.usace.army.mil/projects/Pine.shtml

Wrestling update:
The #3 Augsburg Wrestlers won this afternoon over #15 D2 Augustana (SD) 25-21. A huge pin by #1 D3 HWT Donny Longendyke with 24 seconds to go gave the Auggies the win.

If the Vikings only had pro-style QB...  Sigh. A pocket passer would be so nice on this squad.

What a performance. Will the Vikings manage to win a post season game?

Probably not. But it is pretty satisfying to be living in Cheeseland today. I'll be able to listen to the crying, whining and gnashing of teeth.

It's been pretty rough to be a Viking fan here for a number of years. Now  the shoe's on the other foot with a less than stellar team, with some off field problems as well. I think there's a word for it -" schadenfreude". I've flirted with the idea of switching allegiances, but now with Teddy at the helm, things are looking up.

I have no dog in this particular hunt, but when they were flipping through the different scenarios last night, I wondered out loud if Green Bay wasn't better off losing the game.  If the paths to the NFC championship game are:
a) @Washington, @Carolina (probably)
b) vs. Minnesota, @Arizona

...I think I like option A better.  Particularly in a back-to-back situation with Minnesota.

I'd bet against both GB and the Vikings next week. Of course my record stinks.

I agree...more so against the Vikes, unfortunately.

While it may have been an easier game to go to Washington for MN, I really don't like that mentality of dodging someone who you'll face eventually anyway, if things go right.  I prefer the culture of trying to win every game, regardless of the outcome and not being fearful of opponents, which I believe is the "big picture" that Zimmer is pursuing, so long term I think it's the right move.

I really don't watch the NFL however I didn't understand why the Vikes would want another game in Green Bay.  Wouldn't all the rube Vikes fans want at least one home game?  Heck maybe even Ragnar would toss his new cheese head in the trash and come out to support the purple at TCF...considering they pay him for it!    ;D ;D ;D
