Ladies and gentlemen...Jackson Erdmann...we got him!

Per Frank, he's already enrolled at SJU:  Former Rosemount QB Transfers to SJU

I'll be very interested to see how this pans out.  He'll definitely be a strong contender.  It'll be interesting to see if this will ignite another Mitch Hendricks-type transfer.  I'm thrilled to have another candidate to succeed Martin, but I have to feel for those guys that were in line to replace him--most notably Gunnar Anderson.

T-Jack could probably lend some words of encouragement.

I've missed it if there was some final word, but is there anything further on Jacques Perra?

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that reads this that will know what a Hodag is without looking it up. I've been among the mythical creatures as they live in the forest areas around Rhinelander. They devour white bulldogs as a delicacy.

BDB - maybe just you and me - as we travel through Hodag country going back and forth between our family cabin in Conover, WI - North of Eagle River.

You can add me to the list.

It's big that he will be there in the spring because I think I saw Fasching note somewhere this is a full spring ball year for SJU where they make the trip to Canada. Spring practice is huge for a QB.

The only issue with Erdmann is health. He has been injured A LOT. I don't think he ever was able to crack the top 3-4 for acholarship depleted PSU and dress for a road game so meaningful reps with a 1st team unit are critical.

Will be fun to see how he competes with Gunnar and if he wins the job how SJU might tweak their offense to his favor. Any idea on up and coming teachers for him to throw to? If memory serves SJU loses Bungum, the TE that I thought was underrated, and Clark (injured this year).

Evan Clark will be a senior in 2016.  Other contributing receivers returning in 2016 will be Dan Harrington (senior), Matt Miller (junior), and Brett Watercott (junior).  Clark and Miller impressed me most from that bunch, and I'm sure that a few more will be in the mix.

TT, I appreciate the objectivity and effort you've put into your analysis and it would be irresistibly persuasive but for this one rejoinder: Vikings Suck!

My emotions overwhelm my reason on this question. I remain stubbornly and irrationally unpersuadable. My apologies.

No worries, I completely understand. Thanks, Oz.

Rosemount's Jackson Erdmann transferring from walk-on QB at Penn State to St. John's.

Kid can sling it.  When was the last time SJU had a QB that tall behind center?

Boys of Fall

An arms race is on, Perra to UST, Erdmann to SJU, and Anderson is already at Bethel.  The ball should be in the air a lot next fall.  Erdmann is already living in a dorm and attending classes at SJU, and I suspect throwing to Clark, Harrington, and others in the fieldhouse.  Being there already and being able to participate in the spring practices and go on the trip to Canada will be big (as it will be for the other QB's competing for Martin's job).  SJU is losing a lot of "skill" players on the offensive side of the ball.  Question for someone who might be more in the loop than me, might Josh Parks have his apartment situation worked out and possibly still end up in Collegeville?

This situation is still developing and a lot of us are asking the same question.....
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Is this really what it has come to?  The WIAC board has some explaining to do... http://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2016/01/11/wisconsin-high-school-basketball-air-ball-scoreboard-chants-banned

My son told me about this when he came home from high school yesterday and I thought he was joking. Good luck to the WIAA on this one!

They don't seem to have banned my personal favorite: Start the Bus (with everyone shaking their keys). Major oversight by the No Fun Police  :-* :P

I made Duff work hard on that one...

Melbourne can be an interesting place weather-wise as it is in between the the hot desert of the red center and the cool antarctic ocean. Temperatures can shift wildly as weather patterns move through and wind directions change. As an example, yesterday the mercury hit an oppressive 107.6 degrees. The high today?  66 degrees.

Dang, Oz, but should you be reporting those in Celsius?  Last week, we swung from a high of 34 F on Thursday to a high of 0 F on Sunday.  Not quite the swing of Melbun, but close!

True, but I always like the 0 / 32 gap.  The look on Mrs Oz's face when I claimed she would be wearing a t-shirt at 32 as we headed into her first winter was funny.  I told her that once you've been below zero then 32 feels tropical. Sure enough she was walking around in a t-shirt at 32 in disbelief the next Spring.
