Ran into SagatagSam at the Gophers v Indiana game. I can only say South Dakota has changed him. The proof? Not only was he not wearing maroon or gold, he was sporting Indiana colors. The same Indiana coached by Tom Crean.

According this Twitter page SJU has picked up a few athletes for the 2015-16 campaign.

Apparently Adam Essler (Jake Essler's brother SJU "14) is transferring from Concordia to SJU.  He started his college career at UMD.
It's not very common for to transfer more than once and one of those is within the conference.

Also transferring to SJU from UMD appears to be Derek McLaughlin of Andover.

Lastly J. Bright from Oak Creek, WI has announced via Twitter that he will attend SJU next year.

Hey, all. I hope the new year is settling in well.

Does anyone know when the Johnnies travel to Canadia?  I did a quick search but only could find references, no dates.

Lots of running backs you've got there, faunch. What do you think the odds are of us transferring in a gorilla or three for the trenches?

There's always a chance.

Maybe they're following UST's lead & pretending it isn't happening.  :)

A Johnnie, a Royal and a Tommie are all on the run from the law. They climb up 3 separate trees to hide.

The cops come up to the Johnnie's tree and hear rustling. "Who's up there?" they shout, to which the Johnnie responds "Tweet, tweet".

"It's just a bird, move on," say the cops.

They then come up to the Royal's tree.  "Who's up there?"  The Royal, catching on to the Johnnie's idea, replies "Meow."

"It's just a cat, move on".

They come up to the Tommie's tree and again ask, "Who's up there?"  The Tommie, also taking note of the others, replies "Mooo."

Any idea if the UMD OC taking the HC job at UW-EC had any influence on this?
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Hard to tell...it's only one kid.  If there are a few more it might be an indication...however if those kids really like the OC wouldn't they transfer to UWEC???

Here is a photo of Charlie Dowdle playing in the Tropic Bowl yesterday in Miami: https://twitter.com/fbs_bowl/status/689104796587048960. I'm not sure who is lined up across from him from the Gophers, but that was pretty neat to see.

And UST picked up a few recruits:

Tim Daly, Regis Jesuit HS, DL: https://twitter.com/timjdaly
Will Ampe, Maple Grove, RB/WR: https://twitter.com/Will_Ampe

SJU is getting a good one here.  I watched both these guys play football for Rogers. Skawiniak to SJU and Piehl to Navy.

A follow-up on Making a Murder. Apparently he confessed and that part was left out of the show.

At age 16, Brendan Dassey admitted in a four-hour confession to raping, killing and dismembering 25-year-old Teresa Halbach with his uncle, Steven Avery, a Wisconsin auto salvage owner who'd previously served 18 years for a rape he did not commit. Dassey, whose I.Q. is below 70, is currently serving a life sentence for his role in the crime. The following portions of Dassey's confession, which were elicited without a defense lawyer present, were not included in Netflix's Making a Murderer series.

And from the police interviews:

POLICE: Where does he stab her?

DASSEY: In the chest.

POLICE: Show me where.

DASSEY: Like right here.

POLICE: Where do you stab her?

DASSEY: In the stomach.

POLICE: What does she say when you stab her?

DASSEY: To stop what I was doin'.

POLICE: What's that? Is she screaming?

DASSEY: Yeah.

POLICE: Is she screaming and saying stop what you're doing? Is she swearing at you? Is she struggling or what? Tell us how that happened.

DASSEY: Just that she was crying a lot.

POLICE: Are you holding her down?

DASSEY: No.

POLICE: Who is?

DASSEY: Steven is.

Anyhow.  You can't trust TV.  Everyone with an agenda.

He was a minor with an IQ below 70 and in my opinion he was probably lower than that.  Back in the day a kid that low would have been considered mentally retarded.  He was questioned for about 12 hours without a guardian or attorney present.  There is something seriously wrong with that.  Even if he was read his Miranda rights he probably didn't understand them.
