The first reviewer at ratebeer.com sure didn't like it:

I had hopes for this radler. The aroma was very lemony--which is ok, not unpleasant. It was very clear with 1 finger head. The taste however was not so good. I would describe it as rotten lemon flavor with almost no malt taste at all. It is the first beer in my entire life that I have been unable to finish. In fact, the two of us that drank the beer both ended up dumping our bottles down the drain.

That review is no negative it almost makes me want to try it just to see for myself.

Getting back to our main topic:
Was in a liquor store this afternoon and noticed the one of the most expensive beers was called 10 barrel Swill. I'm sure one of our posters can review said brew. The only Leinies they had was Snowdrift Vanilla Porter. I know Duffman can review that one  :)

10 Barrel is out of Bend, OR. Not familiar with Swill; but their Apocalypse IPA is among my favorites (and gets pretty good reviews). The 'Joe' is excellent as well, but not as widely distributed.

Some Johnnie news:

Josh Bungham and Trevor Warner played in the All-American Bowl last weekend. Bungham was named Offensive MVP for their team's victory.

And in a seemingly all-too-rare demonstration of excellent sportsmanship by a professional I give you Jo Tsonga, a Frenchman no less, who stopped a match at the Australian Open last night to walk a ballgirl off the court that was gamely trying to carry on through the tears after taking a ball to the face.

That reminds me of and old joke regarding the comfort one young lady had as a tennis player.

...even those who have gotten tattoos of their "commitment" are prone to end up at a rival school...

Ha!  When I played, we had a guy that had a large, red N on his upper arm.  I recall him "committing" to Nebraska in high school.  He maintained that the N was for Nick (his name, obviously).

I remember there being a couple of SJU basketball players, twins maybe? (can't quite remember..do remember that they were post players) that had the Nebraska N on their arms...or maybe it was just one of them.  Anyone else remember that?  Always thought it was funny to see that tattoo on a kid playing D3 hoops.

Edit:  Make the picture full size and you can see it on 55's arm.  https://bethelathletics.smugmug.com/Bethel-Mens-Basketball/2006-07/Bethel-vs-St-Johns/i-599qnFd/A

They were twins from Anoka.  Can't pull up the name from the recesses of my brain.  I think their dad was a Husker or a big Husker fan.  That was the reason for the tats.  They did not commit to Nebraska.

It can't be as bad as the guy at the gym I see with the massive brightly colored And1 logo tattoo on his calf. Tagging yourself with a company logo is bad enough, but And1? The worst part is he is fairly young and it looks pretty new.

Maybe they paid him for the ad space!

That's pretty cool.  Nice use of attractive college girls, too.  Back in my day, Gary Fasching just called me on the landline at Mom and Dad's house. :)

IF UST did this they would just have a bunch of GC clones standing behind GC.

Very possible.

Extremely cool use of technology on their part...I wonder how much that cost them.  I'd imagine it would be something they could edit on their own going forward and not have to shell out for each year.

OzJohnnie

It's a type of technology called interactive video and a company called RaptMedia.com seems to be the big one. The didn't have pricing on their website, but this isn't bespoke technology. Olivet would have had help from some digital media hotshot to design and record the video and that's about all it took.

Is this an article from the Onion  ??? ;)
