SJU had (has?) free laundry.  I'm sure we paid for it somewhere in those tuition bills, but no quarters were required.  I don't recall it ever being a problem for me, and I had one of the more rigorous academic majors.  Even if your kid makes it to 18 without knowing how to do laundry, how hard is it to learn?  My 4 and 2 year olds are pretty good at sorting, and I'm sure I could teach the 4 year old to run the machine, too. I get that it's "cool" to have an app-based laundry service.  Wow, U$T...so cutting edge.  But if a college-aged kid can't handle laundry, well, how are they going to make it in the real world?  My life now is way more hectic than it was in college, and we still find the time to do laundry.

Laundry - I do most of the laundry in our house. When I went out for track as a Sophomore in HS is when my mom showed me how to do laundry - because she didn't want to handle my sweaty sweats. So I did laundry every night when I got home from track practice to guarantee my stuff didn't stink the next day.  I was a miler and two-miler in the day, and I sweated a lot as we ran over the countryside to get into shape for the season. I've been doing my own laundry ever since. We taught all our kids how to do their own and when they visit on the holidays, they have free access to the washer and drier - we don't do theirs. I cannot fathom paying someone to do this task - but as they say, "a fool and his money are soon parted".

You have a body. - C.S. Lewis

I wish some of the guys on our wrestling team would have had a quarter of your ambition.  Wrestling is a sweaty, sweaty sport, and I can recall guys wearing the same stuff for over a week.  It's awful when a t-shirt is stiff enough to stand on its own. :o

At least it was in a sport with minimal physical contact...oh, wait   :-\

Thankfully, it was usually the smaller guys!  I usually had a sweat going by the time I walked up the stairs to the wrestling room.

Maybe it was by design. It might discourage your opponent from getting too up close and personal.

A man got a wish from a genie and he asked for immortality. The genie told him that was against the rules. So he asked to stay alive until St Thomas beat Mount Union in a Stagg Bowl.

The genie said, "You crafty bastard!"

Just saw this joke as Vikings and Super Bowl like two days ago.

Great old hockey on-Hawks v North Stars! LaPanta on the call.
Game brings back memories of being at St. Cloud bar with SJU middle linebacker and watching playoffs-just escaping after a Hawk win.

As an exercise, I listed as many Minnesota natives playing in the NHLas I could , and one could have a pretty darn good NHL team. There is an excess of defensemen. Only one problem. No goalie. Yet, Chicagoland has three (that I know of) goalies in the NHL. Al Montoya (Cuban heritage no less) Craig Anderson, and Scott Darling. What's the deal?
