Jim Zebrowski has been hired as ass't head football coach at Hamline by Chip Taylor. Zebrowski was Gophers' QB coach fired by Claeys.

JZ is an excellent coach.  He had success at Lakeland College before joining our staff as offensive coordinator.  That led to the OC job at Northern Illinois with Jerry Kind who took him to Minnesota.  It's a good hire though I question whether he could have the same kind of success that he had at Lakeland at Hamline.  There's a huge difference between the level of competition within the conference.

Good luck, Z.
Jerry was so loved by his players that they changed his last name from Kill to Kind.   8-)

Not too many grass fields left in the MIAC.  Carleton and Bethel; am I missing any?

Are they getting a football team too?

DOH, thanks for the correction.  I don't know why but for some stupid reason it's a mistake I've made more than once.   ???

Cool info.  Thanks, Pat.  A lot has changed since 2002, when SJU installed their first turf field!

37 are in Colorado, 9 are in Oregon and there are two hold-outs in Southern California who greet peace officers with a relaxed, "Don't harsh my buzz, dude!"

If that were really the grass of 'grass fields', football would probably be a far less violent sport! ;D

I was watching Live At The Masters yesterday on The Golf Channel. They were doing a story on Jordan Spieth having cracked the head of his driver, and having to replace it. They showed Spieth on the range with his coach and caddie trying it out, and tweaking it to get it right. In the background is a young dark haired lady holding a young child. Both had the white caddie coveralls that are worn at Augusta National. She turns around, and I see that the name on the back was "Schmitz". A little later there's a guy in shorts also holding a young child with the "Schmitz" name on the coveralls. Quite fortuitous positioning.

Good Luck Sammy.

Sammy Schmitz won't be seen on TV/online stream until he hits Amen Corner (11-13) this afternoon. @stensation has a Strib blog of his round.

We would be remiss as a neighborhood if we didn't acknowledge that today April 7th is National Beer Day.

Oz, my cat and your 'roo can tip an extra one tonight!
