Adding to faunch's point, depending on how the O-line comes along, I could see Sundly & Barber in the backfield together in certain situations. They can both block & they can both catch. That could be a very productive 3rd down tandem.

But what about first and second down?  Will there be somebody capable of carrying the lunch bucket?

Does it look like anyone from D3 will be selected today?  I read the below article about Aaron Karlen out of UW-SP, sounds like he's going to go undrafted.

Charlie Dowdle signed as a free agent today with the Bears.  Very happy for him and the opportunity.

My understanding was that none of the spring sport guys participated Saturday, whether they were nursing injuries or not.  This could have been to avoid injuries that might have prevented them from being able to finish things out this spring or perhaps they weren't up to speed on football if they've missed practices.

Barber could be the lunch bucket guy this year.  Albiet he doesn't have breakaway speed, he's a bruiser who could wear defenses down.  I think we're going to see a more varied offense this year without Sura.  Obviously they were getting looks at everyone on Saturday so it was tough to tell who the featured players will be this year (other than looking at the depth chart from last year), but we'll probably see more rotation at RB and possibly more passing on 1st and 2nd down.

I'm sure after Saturday there's a tentative depth chart, but I suspect there will still be a lot of guys vying for positions come August.

Regina. Don't most guys like spending some time in Regina now and then? I'm surprised the Johnnies are swinging through those parts. It never seemed like their sort of place...    ;)

Chicago...great place for a pass catching tight end to play when the team has gone through about 30 QB's in 30 years...but I guess good luck to him.
