I'd be all in if the Johnnies were to head over to Erin to take on the Cork Admirals

I've got a hunch however that it might be the Tommies going there in a couple years.

It looks like the St. Johns College 2.0 plan is moving forward. Still no word on student athletes playing for UST proper, though.

I think Tommie VoTech is a perfect compliment to your institution's educational brand.

I need to pass you a compliment. As evidenced by your post, SJU clearly provides its students with a full complement of educational resources, including grammar lessons. My hope is that St. Johns College 2.0 can live up to its namesake.

I see Chicago Loyola is also giving this idea a try but it seems that both schools are strong without this new college. Maybe this is a strategy to compensate for a possible higher education bubble.

Higher Education is competitive. Augsburg just broke ground on the $50 Million Hagsfors Center for Science, Business and Religion.

Augsburg is going to look a lot different in 2018!

Nice! Quick question: How is Augsburg going to be structured with this new center? It seems like these three academic fields would normally be taught in different departments/colleges that often have their own real estate. Are the disparate faculties being housed in this building or is it more a center for collaborative research/teaching?

Looks like all faculty teaching in the CSBR will be housed in this new center.

Let's get back on topic....where will I park for football games?  ;)
The campus was already cramped.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Yes it is cramped and we don't have a cut hayfield to use for parking and a shuttle bus to drop you off at the stadium. Sorry  ;)
Several places to park if you know where to look but hard to do if you are in town from Stearns County MN. I get that. When we get closer to the game I can direct you to a spot or two.

Oz,
Looking at the logo on those steins, they are from the Hofbrauhaus in Munich. I was sitting in the Hofbrau, upstairs having dinner and beers a couple years ago. The thing that impressed me were the beer maids. They are absolutely amazing in the fact that they can handle 8-12 steins and never spill a drop.

I've never done Oktoberfest in Germany but would love to give it a go. I'd have to go to the section for over-the-hill duffers. I doubt it would be as much fun as the kids were having in the other tent.

I was really rather disappointed with the beer on my trip to Germany last fall. With the exception of one brewpub in Hamburg at the end of the trip there was little variety and it was very lager-centric. Duckstein was about as exotic as most places got and it was one of maybe two or three kinds on tap.

Erdmann for President!  :D
I don't think he has reached the age of 35,however, some previous SJU QBs played their final year of eligibility approaching the minimum age to be elected POTUS.... :o

I believe Linneman was the last SJU QB old enough to be eligible for the presidency while he was still playing  ;D Keating just missed it...

Mr.MIAC

I'll be spending a few days in the Twin Cities next week. I booked a room at what appears to be a new Hyatt Regency in Bloomington. Is anyone familiar with the place? If so, any opinions? I usually stay downtown, but from the website this Hyatt looks pretty good.

I'm thinking about heading over to the Mall of America for a couple of hours one evening. I haven't been there in years. How's the place held up? Is there anything new, interesting, and worthwhile? Any restaurant recommendations?

There is light rail to Minneapolis. Travel at your own risk after sundown......

As one of a few metro posters here I will speak for the majority of males in the Twin Cities and  say that most of us avoid MOA. My two daughters love the place though. If you like shopping you will do well there. MOA has improved the safety issues by implementing a curfew for kids under 17 or 18 so it should be a good experience. No idea where to eat but your cab driver will have a good recomendation.
