I've read what I could about the Johnnies trip up north.

Did you see stats/a box score anywhere?  Curious if Erdmann made the trek.

A tradition unrivaled...

Well, it looks like the boys climbed out of the bus ready to play, which is both difficult and good to hear.  Also, seven scoring drives indicates that the offense was able to click consistently. Unless they ran the same play all day, it looks like the offense was able to execute a wide variety of plays and keep a lot of drives going.

So basically, on the basis of nothing more than a score from Mulva, Canada, I think we can conclude that the conference championship is already won.

Or at least I would like to.

I think we are all expecting a little more "swagger" from you Mr.

Haven't seen a box score anywhere, but don't think the "scrimmage" itself was the benefit of this trip.  The ten extra padded practices that went along with the trip is what will help the team out, especially with the number of playmakers that graduated.  Erdmann did make the trip, but it doesn't sound like he's necessarily got the starting spot secured.  There are a few other QB's looking good as well.  Fasching said he was more pleased with the running game up there than he was at the Red/White game, but that could have been a result of the competition.  The big question in my opinion (which is probably obvious to some of you) is whether next year's OL and DL will be able to handle some of the bigger/more physical lines they will go up against.

I certainly hope someone rises above the pack in fall camp and that there is a clear cut #1 going into the season. The Merry-Go-Round at QB is not a fun ride.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Agreed.  Last time that was done none of them had the confidence to succeed.

I didn't mean to imply that he'd secured the spot.  I was more curious if he went along because I didn't see his name mentioned.

I can't see Gary going that route.

Mr.MIAC

I hit up the MOA last night. We ate at the Twin Cities Grill and had drinks at the JW Marriott connected to the mall. Both places were great, but the rest of the mall was rather boring. Tonight we're heading down to the Happy Gnome. Their beer menu looks impressive. Any recommendations?

I tried to tell you that shoot-em up MOA wasn't worth your time.  There are a lot of great places on Selby and in the Cathedral Hill neighborhood.  If you see this message before your night is up stop over at the Commodore for a night cap.

There is a Penalty for a male to attempt a good time at MOA. Your Man Card is now revoked. Head over to JD Hoyts, they will issue you a new card.

Rev, if you're still in town trolling the 494 strip, do your belly a favor and go to Khan's Mongolian Barbecue at 494 & Portland. It's a nondescript building in a nondescript area, but the food is outstanding. Often copied, never equalled, you will be chewing long past full.

As the weather turns cold and windy, it can only mean one thing...yes, it's time for the Minnesota Fishing Opener. The pontoon is gassed up, the new Lowrance Elite 7 with Downscan Imaging is installed, and they now stock Hamm's beer at the Lodge. Giddyup!

I'm a fan of Khan's as well...there's one just south on Snelling from BU, though I don't get my money's worth today to the same degree that I did 10 years ago, so the visits are much fewer and further between.
